To be considered for University-wide scholarships, simply submit the application for freshman admission. THERE is no separate application! Admitted freshmen are considered for these University-wide scholarships based on an overall assessment of their admission application.

A few University scholarships require a separate application; a listing of these scholarships is provided HERE. The College of Liberal Arts (CLA) also has a separate scholarship application for incoming freshmen admitted to CLA. Northern Michigan 

University offers a variety of non-resident scholarships

All first year students who apply to NMU are automatically considered for the Wildcat Achievement Scholarship (see levels below). Non-Michigan resident students who apply to NMU are automatically considered for the National Academic Award. The National Academic Award can be added to the Wildcat Achievement Scholarship. Presidential Scholars Competition offers up to 230 scholarships at NMU.Check out their website HERE.

Four (4) $1,000 scholarships will be awarded.  After each quarter, high school seniors need to bring their report cards into Tim Witt Chevrolet in Crivitz, WI.  Students receive 1 entry for every “A” on their report card then, in late June Tim Witt Chevrolet will draw four winners for a $1,000 scholarship each. The Gates Scholarship

The Gates Scholarship is a highly selective, last-dollar scholarship for exceptional, Pell-eligible, minority, high school seniors. Starting in 2018, the scholarship will be awarded to 300 top student leaders each year with the intent of promoting their academic excellence through college graduation, and providing them the opportunity to reach their full potential. Nuts, Bolts & Thingamajigs (NBT) Scholarship

Nuts, Bolts & Thingamajigs (NBT) has awarded scholarships to students majoring in programs that lead to careers in manufacturing. Scholarships are awarded in the spring and fall of each year.

  • Currently enrolled in or entering a certificate or degree program which leads to a manufacturing career on a full-time basis (12 or more credit hours).

  • Have a 2.5 GPA for trade, community, or technical colleges or 3.0 GPA for universities.

The Coca-Cola Scholars Program is an achievement-based scholarship awarded to graduating high school seniors each year. Students are recognized for their capacity to lead and serve, and their commitment to making a significant impact on their schools and communities. 150 Coca-Cola Scholars are selected each year to receive this $20,000 scholarship. United States Senate Youth Program for Wisconsin

Two student leaders from each state will spend a week in Washington experiencing their national government in action. Student delegates will hear major policy addresses by Senators, cabinet members, officials from the Departments of State and Defense and directors of other federal agencies, as well as participate in a meeting with a Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court. All transportation, hotel and meal expenses will be provided by The Hearst Foundations. In addition, each delegate will also be awarded a $10,000 College Scholarship for undergraduate studies, with encouragement to pursue coursework in history and political science.  Check HERE for more information. P.E.O. STAR Scholarship for Women

The P.E.O. STAR Scholarship was established in 2009 to provide scholarships for exceptional women in their final year of high school to attend an accredited postsecondary educational institution in the U.S. or Canada in the next academic year. This is a non-renewable $2,500 scholarship for graduating women in their final year of high school which must be used in the academic year following graduation or it will be forfeited.  See eligibility requirements HERE.

Tradition of Caring® Mortuary Science Scholarship

Newcomer Funeral Service Group is committed to excellence in funeral service education. We annually award $25,000 in scholarships to mortuary science students who demonstrate our core values of Excellence, Trust, Care and Growth. Scholarships are awarded in the amounts of $3,500 and $500.

 

This scholarship is open to all students enrolled in a mortuary science program, as well as high school seniors who intend to enroll in a mortuary science course of study. Awards are for undergraduate study only and all institutions must be accredited with the American Board of Funeral Service Education (ABFSE).

GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program

The GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program rewards college-bound students who demonstrate exemplary leadership, drive, integrity, and citizenship with financial assistance to pursue higher education.

Scholarship awards range from one-time $2,500 awards to multi-year $20,000 awards. APIASF provides scholarships to underserved AAPI students with a special focus on those who:

To be eligible for a Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholarship, an applicant must:

  • Plan to attend an accredited and approved four-year institution within the United States;

Contest Topic:

Describe and analyze an act of political courage by a U.S. elected official who served during or after 1917, the year John F. Kennedy was born. DECA’s scholarship program provides over $200,000 in scholarships to high school and college DECA members at the International Career Development Conference (ICDC) each year. Washington Crossing Foundation Scholarship

Each interested student is invited to write a one-page essay stating why he or she plans a career in government service including any inspiration to be derived from the leadership of George Washington in his famous crossing of the Delaware. This essay must be accompanied by a recommendation from the high school principal or guidance counselor evaluating the student’s achievements, along with transcripts, national testing scores, and other supporting information of the applicant’s choice as described in the Official Rules. The WEAC Scholarship is established to encourage entrance into the field of education by children of eligible members. The Technical Excellence Scholarship (TES) is awarded to Wisconsin High School Seniors who have demonstrated a high level of proficiency in technical education subjects. The TES is only for use at a Wisconsin Technical College within the Wisconsin Technical College system. Annually, the Board of Directors of the Brittany Cayemberg Foundation awards scholarships to high school seniors about to enter a two- or four-year college or university. The American Legion Legacy Scholarship

Who is eligible?  Children of U.S. military members who died while on active duty on or after Sept. 11, 2001.Children of post-9/11 veterans having been assigned a combined disability rating of 50 percent or greater by the Department of Veterans Affairs also qualify.


Each needs-based scholarship provides up to $20,000 for children of the fallen, and up to $5,000 for children of the disabled for undergraduate or post-graduate college. Recipients may reapply for additional annual awards up to six times.

The Bellevue Lions Club is pleased to offer our annual scholarship. The Bellevue Lions Club has established a scholarship fund to provide one-time grants to deserving high-school graduates from the Village of Bellevue or children/grandchildren of Bellevue Lions Club members. The parents, parent, or legal guardian of the student must be a member of Country Visions Cooperative or CP Feeds, LLC and have purchased at least $2,000 worth of goods and services in the year prior to application from Country Visions Cooperative or CP Feeds, LLC (Three of the scholarships will be awarded as an Employee Scholarship. The Rural Life Scholarship is a scholarship worth $500 sponsored by the Rural Life Committee of the Diocese of Green Bay. The purpose of this scholarship is to provide financial aid for an aspiring student going into the agricultural field.

This is a $5,000 scholarship and there will be 71 awards.  To be eligible for this scholarship a student must be a current high school senior who will be attending college in the fall of 2024.

National Fluid Power Association

Scholarship programs:

  • The first, called the Fluid Power Scholarship, is a $2,000 scholarship available to students pursuing fluid power education. Multiple scholarships are available for the 2023-24 academic year. 

A minimum 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale, 500-word essay, and one letter of recommendation are required from each applicant. The GBEA Scholarship Trust Fund awards University and Technical College scholarships of varying amounts to students from Green Bay high schools. Please note that only Green Bay Public Schools students are eligible. Rice Engineering Scholarship (REI)

The Rice Engineering, Inc. Scholarship provides financial assistance to one area high school senior per year who plans to enter the civil engineering field. The scholarship is a $3,000 award to be dispersed in $1,000 increments in the first three years of attendance at a college or university. Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers Scholarship

Scholarship Value: $25,000 -  346 Awards

 

Lack of funds is one of the most challenging reasons facing Hispanic students pursuing their degrees. So SHPE offers thousands of reasons to ensure their members DO reach graduation – over a million to be exact. With 346 scholarships totaling over $1,800,000 awarded last year, SHPE is actively narrowing the gap in the Hispanic STEM education pipeline.

ScholarSHPE provides opportunities for:

  • Graduating high school seniors beginning a STEM undergraduate career at a community college or 4-year university.

  • Undergraduate students pursuing a degree in STEM at any stage of their undergraduate career. Students must be enrolled full-time at a community college or 4-year university.

Award Amount: A one-time scholarship of $1,000 will be awarded per student (to be paid in $500 installments in the fall and spring semesters). Up to six (6) scholarships will be awarded.

Robotics Challenge Scholarship

Robotics Challenge Scholarship, is a $30,000 scholarship ($7,500 per year, for up to four years) award for a graduating high school senior who participates as part of a FIRST® Robotics, National Robotics League, or VEX Robotics Competition Team and uses pneumatics in their robot.

  • A minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale, 1,000-word essay, and one letter of recommendation are required from each applicant. The goal of the NFPA Robotics Challenge Scholarship is to bring an awareness of pneumatic options in robotics to high school students and to stimulate increased use of fluid power products in these competitions.

Wisconsin Towns Association Scholarship Program

Two (2) $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to the students with the highest-ranking essay score from a town or village insured by Mutual Insurance Company as of May 1

Five (5) $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to the top five additional students with the highest-ranking essay scores.

 

The Wisconsin Towns Association, Rural Mutual Insurance Company, and Scott Construction, Inc. will be awarding $7,000 in scholarships to high school seniors graduating from either a public or private high school in Wisconsin that plan to enroll in a Wisconsin public or private college or university in the Fall.

The winners are determined by independent judging of an essay contest.  The essay should address the topic:

“What strategies can be implemented by town officials in collaboration with citizens to maintain civility in local government?”

Dedicated to addressing a critical national shortage by bolstering the pipeline of future language educators, this award provides merit-based scholarships to graduating high school seniors committed to pursuing the language teaching profession in languages other than English. 

The Lead with Languages Teacher Scholarship Program provides recipients with an award of $1,500 per academic year. Scholarships may be renewed three times following the initial award, for a cumulative total of $6,000 per recipient.

Association on American Indian Affairs Scholarship

$1,500 Scholarship - 20 Awards

The Association's Scholarships are provided to students twice per year until they graduate, as long as they maintain a 2.5 GPA and attend full-time. Our mission is to support students who are connected to their Tribal Nation and Indian Country and wish to utilize their degree to serve their Nations.

Scholarship Eligibility

  • Be enrolled with your respective Tribe, either federally recognized or non-federally recognized Tribe, from the continental US or Alaska.

  • Submit a copy of Tribal enrollment (there is no minimum blood quantum requirement for eligibility). This can be a copy of the student's Tribal I.D. card or a copy of an official letter from the Tribe. You must be directly recognized as a citizen or member of your Tribal Nation.

  • Be enrolled as a full-time student. 

  • Have a minimum 2.5 out of 4.0 GPA.

  • Submit a current class schedule and transcript.

  • Attend an accredited institution seeking an Associate's Degree or higher (the Association does not fund certificate programs or seminaries).

The Alumni Legacy Scholarship

Each year, the Alumni Association awards a $2,000 scholarship, as well as 15 - $500 scholarships to new legacy freshmen and/or transfer students. JFLF’s Welding Awards Program

$1,000 - 95 Awards

 

Welding project submissions are open to all students 18 and younger who are enrolled in any school or training program. Students may submit written reports about the welding projects they have completed. The welding project may be a structure, a repair or an item made for home, farm, shop or recreational use. Students can submit a solo welding project, or work with a team of fellow students (five maximum, with instructor approval). Division I entries are first judged by region and then become eligible for national awards.

The Samsung scholarship is being offered through the American Legion Auxiliary Department of Wisconsin to students who would have been eligible to attend the ALA Badger Girls State program.  Due to health and safety concerns, a number of states, including Wisconsin, canceled their programs this year.  American Legion National Commander Oxford is waiving the attendance requirement for students in states with canceled programs.

The American Legion awards between $22,000 and $25,000 in scholarships to deserving baseball players each year. Each Department Baseball Committee may select a player from its department to receive this scholarship. American Indian Science and Engineering Society AISES

The American Indian Science and Engineering Society (AISES) helps students move forward in their educational journeys by providing a wide range of programs and scholarship opportunities. AISES scholarships help students acquire skills and training that will help them meet the unique STEM needs of our communities. We highly encourage you to apply for all the scholarships you are eligible for! To apply, you must be an AISES member.  

 

American Indian College Fund

The American Indian College Fund’s purpose is to increase the number of American Indians who hold college degrees. Currently only 14% of American Indians have a college degree – less than half the national average. Every year, we empower more than 4,000 American Indian students to start and stay in school, complete their degrees and launch careers that benefit us all. We have provided more than 131,000 scholarships and $201 million to support American Indian communities.

American Indian Graduate Center

American Indian Graduate Center provides up to $30,000 in scholarships per student per year and supports Native students pursuing undergraduate, graduate, and professional degrees in the United States. It offers more than 20 scholarship opportunities, plus a comprehensive array of academic and support services for students to utilize throughout their entire academic journey. From completing financial aid applications to creating a study plan to thriving on campus, students can rely on American Indian Graduate Center as a guide every step of the way.

APIA Scholars

Based in Washington, D.C., APIA Scholars is the nation's largest 501(c)(3) nonprofit provider of college scholarships for Asian and Pacific Islander American (APIA) students. APIA Scholars provides scholarships to APIA students pursuing an undergraduate degree at a U.S. accredited college or university.

 

The scholarship application will close on January 14 at 5 p.m. ET.

The American Physical Society (APS) is a nonprofit membership organization working to advance and diffuse the knowledge of physics through its outstanding research journals, scientific meetings, and education, outreach, advocacy, and international activities. APS represents over 55,000 members, including physicists in academia, national laboratories, and industry in the United States and throughout the world.

 

Elks National Foundation Scholarship Programs

Graduating seniors based on financial need, leadership, and scholarship; also merit-based scholarships for children/grandchildren of Elks who are members in good standing; and grants available to children of deceased or totally disabled Elks. Multiple opportunities with varying deadlines.  


 
 

Greater Green Bay Community Foundation (GGBCF)

Administers more than 100 scholarships annually.  Through the generosity of our donors, scholarship awards range from $500 to $40,000 and are based on a variety of criteria — from need, academics or planned major, to volunteer service, athletic participation or commitment to the community. Scholarships are awarded primarily to students in northeast Wisconsin pursuing a technical college or university degree.

Junior Achievement of Wisconsin Scholarships

Junior Achievement is HERE to help finance your college education. Junior Achievement of Wisconsin offers nearly $30,000 in scholarships for students in the state of Wisconsin. These scholarships are awarded to students every year to help them achieve their goal of a post-secondary education. Scholarships may be renewable but must be applied for each year. Horatio Alger National Scholarship Program

National Scholars receive an all-expenses paid trip to Washington, D.C., during the spring of their senior year to participate in the National Scholars Conference.  Recipients must attend the National Scholars Conference to receive the award.  

 

Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) Scholarships

Each year the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) awards multiple scholarships to students showing dedication to the pursuit of higher education in diverse areas of study including history, economics, law, political science, medicine, nursing, occupational and physical therapy, elementary and secondary education, chemistry, math, science and English.  DAR’s scholarships are awarded and judged without regard to gender, race, color, religion, national origin, or disability. 

 

USDA Scholarships

The USDA/1890 National Scholars Program is a partnership between USDA and the 1890 historically black land-grant colleges and universities (PDF, 1.2 MB). The program provides full tuition, fees, books, room and board to students pursuing degrees in agriculture, food, natural resource sciences, or related academic disciplines. When the student has completed the academic and summer work requirements of the scholarship, USDA may at its discretion convert the student to a permanent employee without further competition.
