Join FBLA: Are you looking for a great way to get involved in your school and community?  Then you should join FBLA!  FBLA stands for Future Business Leaders of America.  It is the premier organization for business students with over 250,000 members nationwide. FBLA members compete in a variety of business events at the Regional, State and National Leadership conferences.  We also run the East High School Community Foundation - an investment group that manages a real portfolio of money currently worth nearly 20 thousand dollars. To join just see Mr. Christy in room 222 or 226 and he’ll get you signed up.  He’ll even pay your state and national membership fees so it costs you nothing to join.  Our first meeting is Thursday, September 30th at 7am in room 222. Get involved in your school.  Sign up for FBLA.

Your Green Bay East FFA Chapter is hosting a Fall Picnic Thursday, September 23rd, after school until five pm.  Come outside to the greenhouse for free food, good company, & to hear about first trimester FFA volunteer opportunities!  To reserve your free spot, just go to “B” “I” “T” period “L” “Y” forward slash “f” “f” “a” “picnic” & complete the quick Google Form.  This way, we plan for enough food.  Again: you, food, Thursday the 23rd, reserve online “bit.ly/ffapicnic” as one word lowercase

Our first math meet of the year will be on Monday September 27th.  All meets this year will be here at East.  We will still be competing against other schools but we will have the home field advantage.  Anyone interested in joining, please contact Mr. Quinn in room 124 or Mr. Garay in room 110.

Fine Arts Institute reminds you that apparel orders are due by tomorrow, Friday at noon.  Orders may be dropped off at the Fine Arts Office next to the main security desk.  See Mrs. Roberts with questions.

Students for Social Justice: Are you eager to share your empathy for others and enthusiasm for action? Do you have a passion for social justice and collaboration? Are you interested in learning how to have a voice in courageous conversations? Do you want to expand your knowledge of current social issues, so you can be an ally for people who deserve equal treatment? If you want to make a difference in your school and community and increase your global awareness, plan on attending our first Students for Social Justice meeting. Today after school, we will meet in the library from 3:10-3:45. Find out who is in your school and what fun projects are planned for this year. Students for Social Justice is formerly known as Diversity Club; we will continue to support all students through cultural awareness and individual stories. See Ms. Ollmann in the library if you have questions.

Book Club: Where can you meet other readers and discuss great books? East High Book Club! Stop in the library today to check out your copy of Almost American Girl. We meet September 29.

As we begin our day, we acknowledge and honor the original inhabitants of our various nations of Wisconsin. As we currently reside on the traditional unceded territory of the Menominee Indian Tribe of Wisconsin, and the Ho-Chunk Nation, we acknowledge these nations, people, and communities both past and present, as well as future generations. This acknowledgement demonstrates our sustained commitment to building authentic relationships and coalitions with all members of these Nations and communities.

Word of the Day: Exonerate, verb, to clear from a charge of wrongdoing or from blame.
