October 19 Day 2

Good Morning East high school, it is a great day to be a Red Devil and these are your morning announcements. Please stand for the Pledge of Allegiance.

I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

It Pays To Be On Time:  Today’s winner is sophomore Emily Palacios!  She was on time to all of her classes, so she can come down to the attendance office for her $10 gift card.  Be on time today and you might be a winner tomorrow!

The GBAPS Support Center is here to help you!  There is a team of teachers in the areas of math (secondary and elementary), English Language Arts (secondary and elementary), secondary science, and technical assistance, who are available to assist students after school hours.  Monday -Thursday: 4:00 - 8:00 pm and Friday 4:00 - 6:30 pm. Just call 920-272-7433, email [email protected], or text 920-309-5985 to receive 1-on-1 support.  Teachers will send you a Zoom link to your school email address once your request is received.  Turning on your camera is optional

Attention juniors: If you are interested in ordering a junior shirt please check your email or pick up a form in the main office or room 235. Money and form must be in by October 22nd. We must get 24 pieces to make an order.

Anyone interested in wrestling for the Green Bay United Wrestling Team there will be a short informational meeting on Wednesday, October 20th in the Upper Gym at 3:15 after school.  If you can’t make the meeting but are interested in wrestling please see Mr. Arbour or Ms. Mathu.

Reminder to all boys basketball players:  You need to pick up a grade sheet by Thursday and return it by Friday.  You can pick them up in Coach Rosinski's room 230.

Attention girls interested in playing Powderpuff and guys that may want to coach. We will have sign up forms before school in the lobby where we sell dance tickets. If we get enough people to sign up we will select a day for the event.

Musical Students:  Program Bios and "Best Wishes" forms are due tomorrow, Wednesday, October 20th.  Check google classroom for more information. All students in the show should complete these forms!

Musical Tickets: East students, faculty, and staff - you're invited to attend the fall musical production of The Drowsy Chaperone. Performances run November 5, 6, 12, and 13 in the auditorium, and we are excited to have you back for in-person performances!  The Drowsy Chaperone is a hilarious show, with a jazz-style musical score; it's a comedy within a musical, set in the roaring 1920's.  Our student cast, pit orchestra, technical and back stage teams, costumes, make-up, and production crews are working to prepare a great show.  Get your tickets in the main office or through the showtix link in the announcements!  Musical Tix!

Congratulations to the following AVID students: Itzel Chavarria-Castaneda, Milly Rea Mora, Jacque Kelly, Julieta Garcia. These 4 individuals have gone above and beyond during the month of September and have been selected as the AVID student of the month for September.  They have all been excellent role models in the AVID elective class and have also worked incredibly hard outside the classroom. If you see them in class, please congratulate them.

College visit Thursday, October 21 at 8:30 am UW Oshkosh.

As we begin our day, we acknowledge and honor the original inhabitants of our various nations of Wisconsin. As we currently reside on the traditional unceded territory of the Menominee Indian Tribe of Wisconsin, and the Ho-Chunk Nation, we acknowledge these nations, people, and communities both past and present, as well as future generations. This acknowledgement demonstrates our sustained commitment to building authentic relationships and coalitions with all members of these Nations and communities.

Word of the Day: Nomenclature, noun, name, but it is most often used for a system of names or naming for things especially in science.

These have been your morning announcements

Have an amazing National LGBT Center Awareness Day and a great learning day
