Day 1

Good Morning East high school, it is a great day to be a Red Devil and these are your morning announcements. Please stand for the Pledge of Allegiance.

I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

It Pays to Be on Time:  Today’s winner for being on time yesterday is freshman Aria Hoffman.  Aria, come on down to the attendance office to claim your $10 gift card.  East students, remember to be on time to all of your classes today and you can be our next winner on Monday!

ASVAB Testing on December 7, 2021 at 7:30 am in the Career Center. If you would like to take the test please see Ms. Kong in the Career Center!

Seniors: December 8th our cap and gown representative will be here during lunch hours. Cost of the cap and gown is $30.00. Attached is the flyer that also has other order options on it.

Attention Students: Did you knock it out of the park on exams last week and want to treat yourself? Did you oversleep on Black Friday and miss all the deals? Do you still need to buy your boyfriend/girlfriend/sister/brother a Christmas gift? Whatever the case, the Devil's Den school store has your back. We have just received a big shipment of EHS apparel that is ready to get into your hands. Stop down to the school store before school to buy your gear. More items arriving next week too! Click https://docs.google.com/document/d/1e4ZBuUuNWADt-I6klay7L4G5lJd0otc7Sp3ZXKBqhtc/edit?usp=sharing for a sampling of what we have.

Going Green in Green Bay: Let your voices be heard and join Clean Wisconsin over Zoom on Wednesday, December 8th from 5pm to 6:30pm to learn about how climate change is affecting Green Bay and to share your thoughts on the climate issues and solutions that are most important to you, as a young person. Melissa Schmitz, Green Bay's Resiliency Coordinator, will join us and use the insights you provide to develop local climate solutions. And, to thank you for your time, we will pay for your dinner with a $15 GrubHub/DoorDash gift card. Sign up at tinyurl.com/greenGB

See Mrs. Skaletski in room 211 if you have any questions.

Red Devils win Business Bowl: Yesterday students from East High School competed in the Northeast Wisconsin Finance and Investment Business Bowl regional competition at UWGB. Business Bowl is a game show style trivia contest sponsored by Asset Builders of America. Questions in the game include topics in finance, economics, and business current events. 12 teams from Northeast Wisconsin competed this year and at the end of the single elimination tournament the Red Devil team of Maddie Eckberg, Peter Kiernan, and Anika Sorenson, came out on top knocking off Ashwaubenon in the championship round by a score of 170 to 130. The Red Devils will advance to the state competition in Madison next May. The other team from East consisting of Jackson Heller, Lydia Munchoff, and Ione Berken, finished in the top 4 and likely would have grabbed the second place finish to also advance to state competition had it not been for some unfortunate seeding that pitted East vs East in the semi final round. Congratulations to everyone that participated in the Business Bowl this year! It was a great day to be a Red Devil!

Did you know that the colored parts of poinsettias that most people think of as the flowers are actually colored bracts?  That being said, this announcement of the Poinsettia Sale is ‘bract’ again!  It will take place in the East Greenhouse TODAY, Friday, December third from 3-6 pm. and TOMORROW, Saturday, December fourth and eleventh from 10 am. - 2 pm.  A large, two plant arrangement of red and white poinsettias are fourteen dollars each and a one plant poinsettia is seven dollars each.  Again: Poinsettias, TODAY after school & TOMORROW from 10 until 2, at the greenhouse!

Retro jerseys are on sale now for $25 in room 230.  Red, white or black.  Come get your jersey for the game.

Word of the Day: Galvanize, verb, to cause people to take action on something that they are excited or concerned about.
