Day 2

Good Morning East high school, it is a great day to be a Red Devil and these are your morning announcements. Please stand for the Pledge of Allegiance.

I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

It Pays to Be On Time:  Today’s winner is junior Annika Pries.  Annika was on time to all of her classes yesterday, so she gets to come down to the attendance office and claim her $10 gift card.  Be on time today and you can win tomorrow!

Attention Juniors: Are you tired of working at a part time job that you hate? The Senior Business Internship class is looking for a few ambitious people who want to get a head start on their career and distinguish themselves from the rest of the job-hunting crowd.  Are you the person we are searching for?  The ideal candidate is an outgoing individual who wants to earn high school and college credit, gain real-world work experience, and get PAID for working at a challenging job during their senior year.  Do you think you have what it takes?  Then see Mr. Christy in room 222 for more information.  Space is limited to the first 15 qualified applicants so if you’re interested you need to see Mr. Christy ASAP.

Say “poinsettia” and you probably think of a bold red color.  But did you know that your Green Bay East FFA also sells a white, pink, & even glitter poinsettia?  All colors are going fast at our Poinsettia Sale taking place at the East Greenhouse Friday, December 10th from 3-6 pm. and Saturday, December 11th from 10 am. - 2 pm.  A large, two plant arrangement of red and white poinsettias are $14 each and a one plant poinsettias are $7 each.  Again: Poinsettias, this Friday after school & Saturday from 10 until 2, at the greenhouse!

Hey East, Do you want to help out your fellow students and win gift cards of up to $25? If so, the Eats for East pantry is in need of certain products. For each boxed cereal, box of granola bars, peanut butter, jelly, spaghetti, spaghetti sauce or cooking oils. For each item you bring to your home base teacher they will enter you into the drawing. The more you bring in the more chances you get! See flyer in announcements.

Retro jerseys are on sale now for $25 in room 230.  Red, white or black.  Come get your jersey for the game.

Students for Social Justice: Students for Social Justice meets today after school at 3:05. Please check Google Classroom for updates.

Musical Theatre Students:  Workshop alert!!  Center Stage is hosting a workshop with a cast member from the touring production of Hadestown at the PAC on Wednesday, December 15th from 5:00-6:00 PM.  This will be an in-person event, and students attending the workshop will have an option to purchase "student rush" discounted tickets for the performance.  Any student member of the fall musical is eligible to participate in the workshop.  Contact Ione Berken or Mrs. Tjoflat to sign-up, or if you have questions. [email protected]

Tuesday night your boys basketball team played their first home game of the season and gutted out a 49-43 victory over Seymour.  East was led by Bill Felix who had 19 points and Ryan Sweeney who had 14 points.  Great effort from all the guys who contributed to holding the thunder to 43 points.  Your Red Devils improved to 3 and 0 on the season.  Come out this Friday, as we host our cross town rivals, GB West.  BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. We want everyone to get a retro jersey and come to the game.  You can find the retro jerseys in Mr. Rosinski's room 230 for $25.  Let's show that other school across the river who has more spirit.

Attention to those who volunteered for the Periodic Table Mural. Work will begin after school on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday this week. Please try and make the days you are able to. Any questions, See Mr. Arts in room 212.

Attention Performance Technologies Club members:  there will NOT be a meeting on Monday, December 13th but do plan on a meeting on Monday, December 20th where we'll have a special guest from Lighthouse Productions showcasing lighting techniques!  Don't miss it!
