Day 2

Good Morning East high school, it is a great day to be a Red Devil and these are your morning announcements. Please stand for the Pledge of Allegiance.

I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

Fruit sale orders must be picked up on this coming Tuesday,  after school until 5pm, in the music wing.

It Pays to Be On Time:  Today’s winner is senior Demetria Nunez.  Demetria was on time to all of her classes yesterday, so she gets to come down to the attendance office and claim her $10 gift card.  Be on time today and you can win tomorrow!

Hey East, Do you want to help out your fellow students and win gift cards of up to $25? If so, the Eats for East pantry is in need of certain products. For each boxed cereal, box of granola bars, peanut butter, jelly, spaghetti, spaghetti sauce or cooking oils. For each item you bring to your home base teacher they will enter you into the drawing. The more you bring in the more chances you get! See flyer in announcements.

Attention Juniors: Are you tired of working at a part time job that you hate? The Senior Business Internship class is looking for a few ambitious people who want to get a head start on their career and distinguish themselves from the rest of the job-hunting crowd.  Are you the person we are searching for?  The ideal candidate is an outgoing individual who wants to earn high school and college credit, gain real-world work experience, and get PAID for working at a challenging job during their senior year.  Do you think you have what it takes?  Then see Mr. Christy in room 222 for more information.  Space is limited to the first 15 qualified applicants so if you’re interested you need to see Mr. Christy ASAP.

Attention anyone interested in playing baseball this year, there will be a brief informational meeting December 20th in Room 203 after school. If you are unable to attend please contact Coach Nelson. [email protected]

Attention Performance Technologies Club members:  there will NOT be a meeting on Monday, December 13th but do plan on a meeting on Monday, December 20th where we'll have a special guest from Lighthouse Productions showcasing lighting techniques!  Don't miss it!

Poinsettia Update: Due to snow tomorrow, your Green Bay East FFA will not have a poinsettia sale tomorrow, Saturday, December 11.  This means you have TODAY as the LAST DAY to get your holiday poinsettia produced locally & by the hands of your fellow students.  If anyone has questions, please contact Mr. "Mark-cart"

Musical Theatre Students:  Workshop alert!!  Center Stage is hosting a workshop with a cast member from the touring production of Hadestown at the PAC on Wednesday, December 15th from 5:00-6:00 PM.  This will be an in-person event, and students attending the workshop will have an option to purchase "student rush" discounted tickets for the performance.  Any student member of the fall musical is eligible to participate in the workshop.  Contact Ione Berken or Mrs. Tjoflat to sign-up, or if you have questions. [email protected]

Tonight the boys basketball team faces off against that other team from across the river.  The Red Devils will meet the "Kitty Cats" in the 205th meeting of the two schools. The rivalry dates back to 1922 (yes 100 years).  Come out and support your team and remember to get your retro jersey in room 230.   Show that school with the ugly colors who really has the most school spirit. See everyone tonight.

The Green Bay United Wrestling Team was back on the mats against Menasha last night.  They picked up wins for United.  A great effort was given by all who competed.  Nice job United!

The 2021 yearbooks have been delivered to students and if you took a look at it and thought, "Hmm, I wish I would have bought one" well today is your lucky day! We have extras for sale in the office on a first come, first serve basis. The cost is $55

Word of the day: Palisade, noun, to a fence of stakes used for defense or to a line of steep cliffs

These have been your morning announcements

Have a great Dewey Decimal System Day and an amazing learning day
