Day 1

Good Morning East high school, it is a great day to be a Red Devil and these are your morning announcements. Please stand for the Pledge of Allegiance.

I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

GSA will be meeting virtually today via Zoom. We will reuse the same link from before winter break, and it will be posted in Google Classroom, as well. If you need us to send you the link directly, please email Mrs. Amschler or Ms. Wetzel.  Be safe, everyone!

Attention anyone interested in baseball, if you missed the informational meeting before break, please see Coach Nelson in room 203 for information regarding the upcoming season. ([email protected])

NYFO Green Bay: If you are interested in a 7 on 7 Non-Contact Youth football league please see the flyer attached.

Congratulations to the following AVID students:  Yahaira Navarro Zuniga, Jesus Rios,Tallon Baird, and Phantayza Hackney. These 4 individuals have gone above and beyond during the month of December and have been selected as the AVID student of the month for December.  They have all been excellent role models in the AVID elective class and have also worked incredibly hard outside the classroom. If you see them in class, please congratulate them.

Math Team:  Our next math meet will be next Monday, January 10th.  We will start at 5 pm in the LMC.  Anyone interested in participating can sign up with the following form.   MATH TEAM SIGNUP  If you have any questions please see Mr. Garay or Mr. Quinn.

NHS Members:  Please turn in your Seroogy's money to Mr. Garay in room 110 by this Friday, January 7th

Seniors: This is a reminder that if you did not order your cap and gown you can do so in the office or order through the representative on Jan. 12th. There is an online link as well in the flyer attached here.

Attention to all those working on the Periodic Table: Work on the Periodic Table Mural in the science wing is canceled tonight due to weather concerns.

Attention Senior Guys: This announcement is to see if we have any senior guys interested in Ugly Man. Now you ask what is Ugly Man? It is a spoof on a beauty pageant where guys show off their swimwear, formal wear, talent, and they pay tribute to their idol. It is meant to be fun and entertaining. If this interests you please stop in the main office and sign up. We do not have a date set, we are just trying to see if we have enough guys interested as in the past the numbers were low.

Book Club: Book Club meets in two weeks to discuss Leigh Bardugo's bestselling novel Shadow and Bone. There are copies in the library. Pick up your copy today!

Students for Social Justice: Students for Social Justice meets tomorrow after school. We will be discussing our plans for the Human Library. Please check Google Classroom for volunteering help needed this Friday during the girls basketball games.

Forensics: If you missed the informational meeting yesterday, please email Ms. Amschler or Ms. Christopherson by Friday!

As we begin our day, we acknowledge and honor the original inhabitants of our various nations of Wisconsin. As we currently reside on the traditional unceded territory of the Menominee Indian Tribe of Wisconsin, and the Ho-Chunk Nation, we acknowledge these nations, people, and communities both past and present, as well as future generations. This acknowledgement demonstrates our sustained commitment to building authentic relationships and coalitions with all members of these Nations and communities.

Word of the day: Sully, verb, to make soiled or tarnished
