Day 1

Good Morning East high school, it is a great day to be a Red Devil and these are your morning announcements. Please stand for the Pledge of Allegiance.

I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

GSA (Gender & Sexuality Alliance) meets every Wednesday from 3:15-4:15 in room 301. If you are interested, walk on up to the third floor! If you have any other questions, please email Ms. Wetzel or Ms. Amschler.

Attention Senior Guys: This announcement is to see if we have any senior guys interested in Ugly Man. Now you ask what is Ugly Man? It is a spoof on a beauty pageant where guys show off their swimwear, formal wear, talent, and they pay tribute to their idol. It is meant to be fun and entertaining. If this interests you please stop in the main office and sign up. We do not have a date set, we are just trying to see if we have enough guys interested as in the past the numbers were low.

Attention Red Devils: Silent Night Against Homelessness is on Saturday January 29th, Silent Night is an event that raises awareness of Homelessness in the area and the event revolves around the boys and girls basketball games at West High. They have raffles and drawings and the purpose of this email....a wing eating contest. East High is looking for a few good people that can inhale wings. We need a team of 5 that can eat 50 wings faster than West. We are the two time defending wing eating champions. If interested please sign up in the main office.  Students must be in good standing to participate. That means good attendance and grades. And one more thing......we don't lose

Attention Juniors and Seniors…Do you have blood??  Maybe a little more than you need? You should consider giving some away!!!   Help save a life by donating blood on Wednesday, January 26th through the Community Blood Center’s blood drive hosted by HOSA.  This blood drive is open to students 16 years old or older.  16 year olds will need parent permission, but 17 and older do not.  The blood drive is being held during the school day so as an extra added bonus, you get to get out of class.

To register please use the link in the announcements or contact Mrs. Enderby or Mrs. Christopherson https://donate.communityblood.org/donor/schedules/drive_schedule/33938

Do you enjoy talking to people and finding out what is going on? Do you enjoy writing and secretly desire to see your name in print? Do you want to see what it’s like to be a journalist? Then SCHOOL NEWSPAPER is for you! We need people like YOU to work as reporters. Interested students are ALWAYS welcome to join our meetings every Wednesday morning in room 306 at 7:00am. Breakfast is provided! See you there!

Join the Green Bay East FFA Chapter Thursday, January 20th in room 153 for the Apps with Apps night! Come eat appetizers and get help filling out applications for anything scholarship and FFA related from 3:15 to 5pm. Enjoy food, fun, and getting things done! Again, January 20th, after school, room 153.

After school tutoring in Room 108 is canceled for today. It will be open tomorrow, Thursday January 20th

Forensics: There will be a short meeting on Thursday, 1/20, in room 304. We will start at 3:05! Please make sure to email Ms. Amschler or Ms. Christopherson if you can't make it!

As we begin our day, we acknowledge and honor the original inhabitants of our various nations of Wisconsin. As we currently reside on the traditional unceded territory of the Menominee Indian Tribe of Wisconsin, and the Ho-Chunk Nation, we acknowledge these nations, people, and communities both past and present, as well as future generations. This acknowledgement demonstrates our sustained commitment to building authentic relationships and coalitions with all members of these Nations and communities.
