Day 2

Good Morning East high school, it is a great day to be a Red Devil and these are your morning announcements. Please stand for the Pledge of Allegiance.

I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

The ASVAB test will be given February 17, 2022 to juniors and seniors.  The ASVAB Career Exploration Program helps students learn about themselves and the world of work.  Along with testing verbal and math skills, the ASVAB also tests electronics, auto and shop, mechanical comprehension abilities, and includes a career interest inventory.  It is a great way to prepare for the ACT exam or to discover your interests.  A military enlistment score is available, but only if you desire to use it.  An educator will sit down with the students to interpret their results.  There is no cost to participate.  Sign up in the Career Center by February 11, 2022

Attention Seniors: Graduation is right around the corner if you have not ordered your cap and gown come to the office or order from the link on the flyer. Orders are due by March 25th.

Attention Seniors: If you are interested in designing the Graduation Program Cover please see the flyer attached for more information. Winner will receive a free cap and gown.

Just a Snowball week reminder: Be on the lookout for the Devil head/East logo and the double dollar signs around the building to win prizes. If you find one, bring it to room 235 to claim your prize! The double dollar signs are not as obvious as the devils!

Attention all Juniors: All juniors are welcome to attend an informational Junior Prom dance meeting TODAY, Tuesday, February 1st, in Room 242 during the lunch hours. The same information will be distributed/shared, so you only need to attend during your assigned lunch period. Mrs. DeJardin will share pertinent information, plus there will be a chance to sign up to join a planning committee, if interested!

Vocal Jazz Students: Vocal Jazz practice tomorrow, Wednesday, after school at 3:20 in the choir room.

Attention anyone interested in being a member of either the Boys or Girls Track and Field team this year, there will be a brief informational meeting in Room 221 after school on Thursday 2/3. If you are unable to attend please contact Coach Butler ([email protected]).

The Community Blood Drive thanks you! Students and staff helped to save over 111 lives at the blood drive! Patients right at HSHS St. Vincent & St. Mary’s Hospitals have a second chance! A big shout out to East! The coordinators commented that the donors had such good will towards others and it was a true pleasure to work with them. Everyone showed up on time and was prepared – it was a well organized blood drive! If you were deferred due to low iron, height/weight ratios, high pulse, etc, please know that you will have another opportunity to donate at East's next blood drive in April. Thank you again

Word of the Day: Garble, verb, to so alter or distort as to create a wrong impression or change the meaning.

These have been your morning announcements

Have a great National Dark Chocolate Day and a wonderful learning day
