Day 1

Good Morning East high school, it is a great day to be a Red Devil and these are your morning announcements. Please stand for the Pledge of Allegiance.

I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

We all know relationships can be tough. But did you know 1 in 3 young people will experience abuse by a partner while dating? It’s a lot more common than we think!”

February is Dating Violence Awareness Month & 2022 marks the 12th anniversary of efforts to end Teen Dating Violence. Enough is enough! Everyone deserves healthy relationships. We can influence change in how we treat our partners and how we respond to acts of abuse. Let's Take ACTION and put an END to Dating Violence. If you or someone you know needs help you can text “loveis” to 22522 to talk with an Advocate or call Golden House, our local domestic violence agency, at 920-435-0100.

Spring Play: The Green Bay East spring play will be Almost, Maine -- a town that is SO far north, it's almost NOT in the United States. Taking place all in one night in the middle of the winter, Almost’s residents find themselves falling in and out of love in the strangest ways. Love is lost, found, and confounded. Auditions will be held Wednesday, Feb. 22nd. Actors will need to prepare a 1 minute monologue, fill out an audition form, and be prepared to read scenes from the play. For potential cast and crew, please ask Mr. Willems [email protected] or Mrs. Peters [email protected] to add you to Google Classroom where you will find necessary resources and forms.

Attention Seniors: Your senior portrait is due to the yearbook in THREE weeks, March 4. Please email your photo to Ms. Altman ([email protected]). Please follow the guidelines emailed to you.

If you still need to order your 2022 yearbook, please do so before the end of April! The cost is $55 and you can pay by check or cash in the main office. If you'd like to pay by card, you can do so at www.yearbookforever.com and search for our school.

Latino Club: Show someone you care. Have an Orange Crush delivered to a friend, sibling, teacher, or significant other during 5th hour Monday, February 14th  for a Valentine’s Day surprise! Orders for delivery will be taken before and after school and during both lunches starting Monday, February 7th before school and ending Friday, February 11th. A can of Orange Crush will cost $1. Only $1 to put a smile on someone’s face and let them know they are special. Demuéstrale a alguien cariño.

Attention HOSA students: We are moving our usual Tuesday meeting to Thursday Feb 10th after school at 3:10 in room 133. We will be discussing potential college visits, guest speaker opportunities, and Bellin Hands on Healthcare event. Hope you can join us! Also if you competed at Regionals the Recognition Session is Wednesday Feb 9th at 7pm! Again the next HOSA meeting is after school Thur Feb 10th!

When you give roses for Valentine's day, what are you really saying? Here is something beautiful and temporary that will slowly wither and die in a vase on your kitchen table. This is not a message of love. You need something that will go right to the heart and stay there for years to come, preferably in the form of cholesterol. And that's why on February 14th the East High Culinary department will be selling bacon roses after school.  Stop by the culinary room to get your very own bacon rose. 1 for $3, or 3 for $5.

Congratulations to Rhapsody in Red, cast, combo and crew! You made it to the finals at the DePere Competition and brought back some hardware! Way to represent East! Remember to turn in paperwork this week to Mrs. Iken for the Indiana competition. Take care of your classwork and grades and keep wearing masks and staying healthy.
