Day 1

Good Morning East high school, it is a great day to be a Red Devil and these are your morning announcements. Please stand for the Pledge of Allegiance.

I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

Spring Play: The Green Bay East spring play will be Almost, Maine -- a town that is SO far north, it's almost NOT in the United States. Taking place all in one night in the middle of the winter, Almost’s residents find themselves falling in and out of love in the strangest ways. Love is lost, found, and confounded. Auditions will be held Wednesday, Feb. 23rd. Actors will need to prepare a 1 minute monologue, fill out an audition form, and be prepared to read scenes from the play. For potential cast and crew, please ask Mr. Willems [email protected] or Mrs. Peters [email protected] to add you to Google Classroom where you will find necessary resources and forms.

Attention Seniors: Your senior portrait is due to the yearbook in TWO weeks, March 4. Please email your photo to Ms. Altman ([email protected]). Please follow the guidelines emailed to you.

If you still need to order your 2022 yearbook, please do so before the end of April! The cost is $55 and you can pay by check or cash in the main office. If you'd like to pay by card, you can do so at www.yearbookforever.com and search for our school.

Attention all students that were in Ceramics and Sculpture class with Mr. Dix: Your mugs have been fired and are ready to glaze. There is a glazing session coming up this Wednesday at 3:15. Please check your email, Mr. Dix sent you a document that you can use in order to sign up for the glaze session. Any questions email Mr. Dix

Musical Students:  The Center Stage Virtual Dance Workshop has additional sign-up spots available.  You'll be working with cast members from the Broadway touring company of Hairspray on February 16th from 5:00-6:00 PM. Details and link in the Drowsy Chaperone google classroom

Attention all AVID students grade 9-12. We are meeting with the UWGB chancellor today 2nd hour. Please report to the Auditorium not room 309. Do not go to your 2nd hour class but report directly to the auditorium 2nd hour.

Any girls interested in joining soccer this spring please contact Coach Jay [email protected] or Adriana Montoya Valdez [email protected] for information about the season and registration. The season officially begins on March 21st.

Library: There's Love in the Library! Go on a Blind Book Date with a wrapped book. Play the Matching Game Contest, or make a Valentine for your Valentine at the card making table. Stop in today! This is a reminder that the library is hosting the first African American Author Readathon this Wednesday. This is an event that you don't want to miss. Please check out the sign-up document in your Home Base Classroom or stop in the library to sign up. Since there will be guest speakers and classes coming to the library, some study hall hours will be limited or closed. Be part of this exciting celebration by signing up and supporting your fellow readers!

Congratulations to Rhapsody in Red for placing 8th at the Homestead Show Choir Classic in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Homestead High School hosts the largest show choir competition in the United States! Final competition of the season is Saturday at Monona Grove. Then look for your chance to experience Rhapsody in Red on our own stage at East, March 11 and 12.

The Culinary department will be selling bacon roses after school in the Culinary lab. 1 rose for $3, 3 roses for $5.

Word of the Day:  Billet-doux noun, love letter
