Day 1

Good Morning East high school, it is a great day to be a Red Devil and these are your morning announcements. Please stand for the Pledge of Allegiance.

I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

Attention Seniors: Your senior portrait is due to the yearbook in ONE week, March 4. Please email your photo to Ms. Altman ([email protected]). Please follow the guidelines emailed to you.

Spring Play: The Green Bay East spring play will be Almost, Maine. Auditions will be held Wednesday, Feb. 23rd. Actors will need to prepare a 1 minute monologue, fill out an audition form, and be prepared to read scenes from the play. For potential cast and crew, please ask Mr. Willems [email protected] or Mrs. Peters [email protected] to add you to Google Classroom where you will find necessary resources and forms.

If you still need to order your 2022 yearbook, please do so before the end of April! The cost is $55 and you can pay by check or cash in the main office. If you'd like to pay by card, you can do so at www.yearbookforever.com and search for our school.

Any girls interested in joining soccer this spring please contact Coach Jay [email protected] or Adriana Montoya Valdez [email protected] for information about the season and registration. The season officially begins on March 21st.

Final exams are next week.  Need a place to study? Meet your friends to create a study group?  Even grab a snack?  Then come to room 309 on Monday Feb 28th and Tuesday March 1st from 3 pm - 5pm.  Link Crew and NHS will be hosting a final exam study-a-thon. You come to study and we will provide the snacks.

It’s National FFA Week! In celebration, trivia questions on the FFA organization will be announced.  Answers to the trivia questions can be dropped off at the main office or library.  One daily winner will be selected to win either a free drink of their choice or two free cookies from our school store!  Here’s today’s question: What are the National FFA colors? A. National Blue & Corn Gold, B. Yellow & Blue, C. Turquoise & Magenta, or D. All the colors of the rainbow.  Again: trivia, office & library, chance of a lifetime!

Also, the FFA will NOT be hosting a pancake breakfast tomorrow morning, Tuesday, February 22, due to nasty weather that morning.  Mr. Markhardt hopefully will correct the posters soon.

Library: Today is your last chance to pick up a Blind Date Book in the library! There have been some sweet book love connections that started at the library display table. Try your luck with a wrapped book today! Also, to recap last week, the African American Author Readathon was an amazing event! Home Base teachers have a video that captures 55 readers who read nonstop from 8 AM-3 PM. The following students also scored a free book at the event. If you hear your name, please stop at the library today to pick up your Door Prize: Jesus Beltran Vazquez, Lydia Munchoff, Alexis Kilpatrick, Randy Robles, Cameron Rodriguez, Julieta Arroyo, Alicia Vargas Enriquez, Lucas Anderson, Alex Rivera-Beas, Sol Madderom, Guadalupe Gonzalez, Angelo Pina. Thank you, everyone!

Word of the Day: Invincible, adjective, incapable of being conquered, overcome, or subdued
