Day 1

Good Morning East high school, it is a great day to be a Red Devil and these are your morning announcements. Please stand for the Pledge of Allegiance.

I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

GSA (Gender & Sexuality Alliance) meets every Wednesday from 3:15-4:15 in room 301. If you are interested, walk on up to the third floor! If you have any other questions, please email Ms. Wetzel or Ms. Amschler.

Attention Seniors: Your senior portrait is due to the yearbook in ONE week, March 4. Please email your photo to Ms. Altman ([email protected]). Please follow the guidelines emailed to you.

If you still need to order your 2022 yearbook, please do so before the end of April! The cost is $55 and you can pay by check or cash in the main office. If you'd like to pay by card, you can do so at www.yearbookforever.com and search for our school.

Spring Play: The Green Bay East spring play will be Almost, Maine. Auditions will be held TODAY after school, Feb. 23rd. Actors will need to prepare a 1 minute monologue, fill out an audition form, and be prepared to read scenes from the play. For potential cast and crew, please ask Mr. Willems [email protected] or Mrs. Peters [email protected] to add you to Google Classroom where you will find necessary resources and forms.

Any girls interested in joining soccer this spring please contact Coach Jay [email protected] or Adriana Montoya Valdez [email protected] for information about the season and registration. The season officially begins on March 21st.

Soccer players:  East will have an open gym this Sunday for both boys and girls soccer players.  Open play will run from 2-3pm and is open to any East student that wants to play this spring for the girls or next fall for the boys.

Final exams are next week.  Need a place to study? Meet your friends to create a study group?  Even grab a snack?  Then come to room 309 on Monday Feb 28th and Tuesday March 1st from 3 pm - 5pm.  Link Crew and NHS will be hosting a final exam study-a-thon. You come to study and we will provide the snacks.

Attention all visual Fine arts students: This week Thursday is the first meeting of the semester at the NWTC Artisan center. Please be sure to attend this Thursday, and arrive a few minutes early.

There will be an open gym this Sunday at West at 4pm for anyone interested in playing softball. Also, March 3rd at 6pm there will be a parent/player meeting at West in the little gym for those that are interested in playing softball. Thank you! Excited for the season to start and warmer weather!

It’s National FFA Week! In celebration, trivia questions on the FFA organization will be announced.  Answers to the trivia questions can be dropped off at the main office or library.  One daily winner will be selected to win either a free drink of their choice or two free cookies from our school store!  Yesterday’s winner was Adrian Pena Sanchez, for correctly answering, “1928” as the year the FFA Organization was established. Claim your free drink coupon in the Agriscience by the end of the day!  Here’s today’s question: What symbol represents the advisor in the FFA? A. Owl, B. Giraffe, C. Dolphin, or D. Bow-tie.  Again: trivia, office & library, you could win big!

Your Green Bay East FFA is hosting a Culver's Share Night this Thursday, February 24 from 4 - 8 pm!  We'll be across town at the Ashwaubenon location, on Hansen Road.  A percent of the money raised from Culver's goes back to the FFA Alumni, who financially support & mentor our FFA & agriscience education students here at East.

As we begin our day, we acknowledge and honor the original inhabitants of our various nations of Wisconsin. As we currently reside on the traditional unceded territory of the Menominee Indian Tribe of Wisconsin, and the Ho-Chunk Nation, we acknowledge these nations, people, and communities both past and present, as well as future generations. This acknowledgement demonstrates our sustained commitment to building authentic relationships and coalitions with all members of these Nations and communities.

Word of the Day: Parable, noun, ia a story having an ending based on moral attitude, a standard of conduct, or a religious principle.

These have been your morning announcements

Have a great National Banana Bread Day and a fantastic learning day
