Day 1

Good Morning East high school, it is a great day to be a Red Devil and these are your morning announcements. Please stand for the Pledge of Allegiance.

I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

GSA meets today! Today we will be meeting in room 109 (the art room) to prepare for the art gala. Don't forget - room 109. Please email Ms. Wezel or Ms. Amschler with any questions.

Any girls interested in joining soccer this spring please contact Coach Jay [email protected] or Adriana Montoya Valdez [email protected] for information about the season and registration. The season officially begins on March 21st.

Speaking of soccer, there is open gym on Sunday from 1pm-2:30 for all interested boys and girls.

Hey Red Devils, are you looking for some new East attire? The student council is pre-selling our new spirit wear. We are offering different types of clothing and different colors of our newest design. Please see the link in the virtual announcements for details or stop in the main office for an order form.  Orders are due in by March 11.  Pre-selling is being done before school this week in the main office lobby

Attention former, present and future chemistry students. The time has come to begin another mural in the Science wing. Those who participate, can earn volunteer hours and have fun at the same time. No experience is necessary. We will start March 7 at 3:10 in room 212 for all those interested. Work will be on Tuesday through Thursday until the project is complete. Please contact Mr. Arts if you are unable to make the meeting but would like to participate.

Buff Puff: Attention guys, Buff Puff is back. Now you ask what is Buff Puff?  Well Buff Puff is the guys playing volleyball like powder puff is where the girls play football. Buff Puff is Thursday March 17th. Forms are in the main office with rules. One thing is that grades and attendance count. We will be using the final trimester 2 grades. Failing 2 courses means you cannot play. All forms are due to the main office by Wednesday March 16th. All team members must be from the same grade.

Attention Boys: Looking for something chill, fun, and something that will help you work on that Spring tan??  Tennis might be for you.  We have new Nike hoodies and uniforms this year! Tennis is a great sport that will help you get in shape and get you outside running around.  I promise you will have a riot if you join.  Please go down to Coach Calo's room 107 someday this week to sign up or you can sign up at our meeting next Wednesday, March 16th, right after school.  If you have any questions, come on down!!

Have you ever wondered how levers work? Or maybe you want to annihilate your friends in arm wrestling? Or maybe you would rather watch a fun, interesting AP Fair presentation than stay in home base! Come on down to the library RIGHT NOW to participate in Ms. Chouinard’s presentation on the physics of arm wrestling! Tomorrow’s AP Fair presentation will be Mr. Butler on the psychology of manufactured bias.

Attention Class of 2023 Business Senior Internship students: Please check your student email ASAP for a very important email from Mr. Christy. We have our first Senior Internship meeting this Thursday and all new Business Internship students are required to attend.

As a way to say, “Thank You!” for supporting the East FFA chapter, the Green Bay East FFA Alumni & Supporters would like to invite staff & this year’s agriscience students to a pancake breakfast tomorrow, Thursday, March 10, from 6:45 - 7:30 am. Hosted in the Agriscience room (153), community Alumni members will be serving pancakes, coffee, orange juice, & possibly more. Again: pancakes for staff & Agriscience students, tomorrow morning!

March is Women's History Month! The library is celebrating women with famous quotes. Identify the speaker of the quote and find out what library book we have about the famous person. Submit the book title in the library. Each day there will be a winner, and there will be a grand prize at the end of the month. Monday's winner was Ike LaRock. Here's today's famous quote: “There is something infinitely healing in the repeated refrains of nature - the assurance that dawn comes after night, and spring after winter.”

Book Club: Book Club students, please complete the Google Form survey about what you would like to read for our April Book Club discussion.

Students for Social Justice: All students and staff who are interested in planning and participating in East High Library's first Human Library should plan on attending an informational meeting this Thursday after school in the library. Today we acknowledge that we are located on land and water that is the current and ancestral homeland of the Menominee Indian Nation, the Ho-Chunk Nation and home of the Oneida Nation. We honor and respect the many diverse Indigenous spiritual and physical caretakers of this land who have retained tribal sovereignty, treaty rights, and cultural resilience. We uphold our responsibility to repair relationships, initiate partnerships, and stand with members of these and all First Nations.
