Day 1


Good Morning East high school, it is a great day to be a Red Devil and these are your morning announcements. Please stand for the Pledge of Allegiance. 


I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.


GSA (Gender & Sexuality Alliance) meets every Wednesday from 3:15-4:15 in room 301. If you are interested, walk on up to the third floor! If you have any other questions, please email Ms. Wetzel or Ms. Amschler.

 

Transgender Day of Visibility is Thursday March 31st. The day is dedicated to celebrating the accomplishments of transgender and gender diverse people while raising awareness of the work that still needs to be done to achieve trans justice.  Visit the library to see an informational display and check out 10 books by trans authors telling trans stories.  

 

Summer school at East:  Summer school registration starts March 28th through April 11th.  If you are interested in signing up for a course during summer school, you can do so through Infinite Campus or come and see your Counselor in Student Services.  For more information, please visit this link:  Summer School registration link

 

Jazz Band & Vocal Jazz Ensemble Students: Please turn in your Madison “Capitol Concert” field trip form by the end of the day today!  


Queer Art Night:  GSA is hosting a series of Queer Art Creation Nights geared specifically toward LGBTQ+ teens. Artwork will be exhibited on April 20th in GSA's Queer Art Gala Night. GSA will meet in Room 109 today after school; materials will be provided if you don't bring your own. Any student is welcome to attend, even if you've never been to a GSA meeting before!


Vocal Jazz Ensemble - A reminder that we have practice and a performance run through after school today, from 3:15-3:50pm. 


Attention Seniors: If you are attending or interested in attending UWGB there is a  virtual informational session April 14 from 5pm-6pm. Please see this attached flyer for more information.


Golf practice today will take place in room 146 after school. Bring your putter if you have one. 


Congratulations FBLA: The last 2 days students from the Green Bay East chapter of Future Business Leaders of America competed in Madison at the Wisconsin FBLA State Leadership Conference. East qualified 4 students for FBLA Nationals this summer by finishing in the top 4 in their competitive event. The following students will be competing on the WI FBLA National Team in Chicago this June: Lydia Munchoff - 3rd place in Personal Finance, Aaron Fisk - 3rd place in Computer Problem Solving, Israel Sanchez - 2nd place in Spreadsheet Applications, Madeline Eckberg - 1st place in Insurance and Risk Management. Honorable mention also goes to Jack O'Connell who finished in the top 10 in the Healthcare Administration event.


Prom tickets will be on sale after school in the main office lobby after school today at $30.00.  You can also purchase tickets for the post prom that is at Willow Creek from 11pm-1am the cost is $15.00.


Students for Social Justice: Students for Social Justice meets tomorrow after school in the library. Everyone is welcome. We would love to see new faces and hear new stories! See Ms. Ollmann if you have questions.


The AP Fair is back! Come to the library during homebase next week Monday through Wednesday for engaging activities on Calculus, Statistics, and Biology!


Today we acknowledge that we are located on land and water that is the current and ancestral homeland of the Menominee Indian Nation, the Ho-Chunk Nation and home of the Oneida Nation. We honor and respect the many diverse Indigenous spiritual and physical caretakers of this land who have retained tribal sovereignty, treaty rights, and cultural resilience. We uphold our responsibility to repair relationships, initiate partnerships, and stand with members of these and all First Nations.
