Day 2

Good Morning East high school, it is a great day to be a Red Devil and these are your morning announcements. Please stand for the Pledge of Allegiance.

I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

Congratulations Itzel Chavarria-Castaneda! Itzel submitted a beautifully hand drawn design for the graduation program cover.  She won a free cap and gown and everyone at graduation will enjoy her awesome art work!

If you still need to order your 2022 yearbook, please do so before the end of April! The cost is $55 and you can pay by check or cash in the main office. If you'd like to pay by card, you can do so at www.yearbookforever.com and search for our school.

Attention Seniors: If you are attending or interested in attending UWGB there is a  virtual informational session tonight from 5pm-6pm. Please see this attached flyer for more information.

Attention Seniors: You received a Google Form from Ms. Altman for the 2022 Senior Superlatives! This is your chance to vote for your classmates for Best Bromance or Most Likely to Teach at East as well as other categories! The Form will be open until Monday at 3pm.

Book Club: Please check your email for a survey from Ms. Ollmann.

Library: Students for Social Justice is leading an Earth Day Clean-up Event on Saturday, April 23 from 8 AM-12 PM. You can earn volunteer hours! Sign up is in the library. See Ms. Ollmann if you have questions.

Do you have old, broken, or dead electronics at home?  Consider the environment, skip throwing it in the landfill, & bring them to East!  Your Green Bay East FFA has an Electronics Recycling Box outside the main office from now until April 21.  Consider this for next Spring, too - we hope to make this an annual, every year thing.  If your electronic is on the poster list, which is also linked on the virtual announcements, we’ll recycle it for free!  Questions can be directed to Mr. Mark-cart.

Do you want to get involved in the decision making process for high school students? Do you want to work with the school board for changes to district policy? If you said yes then Intra City Student Council may be for you. Please check for an email from Mr. VandenHouten or click on the online announcements.

Have you taken an Agriscience class this year, between March 2021 through March 2022? Then your Green Bay East FFA chapter has a cash award application for you!  By submitting your Supervised Agricultural Experience (or SAE) Portfolio done in Agriscience class, you can apply for awards through the FFA.  Top placing applications have the potential for a cash award, thanks to generous community support from the FFA Alumni.  Just go to “B” “I” “T” period “L” “Y” forward slash “east” “s” “a” “e” & complete the quick Google Form application.  You have until Friday, April 15, to apply!  Remember: “east” “sae” as one word lowercase, or see Mr. Mark-cart for more information.

Attention Students: If you are interested in signing up for Summer School please see your school counselor.

Next week is Rainbow Week where we will shine a spotlight on LGBTQIA+ students and issues impacting the Community.  Each day will be a dress up day for a different color of the rainbow starting with RED on Monday.  The week will end with a recognition of National Day of Silence on Friday, April 22nd.  Please make you you listen to the announcements next week for important information about the Pride Flag, GSA’s Queer Art Gala Night, and Day of Silence.  If you have any questions, please reach out to Mrs. Amschler or Ms. Wetzel!

Word of the Day: Opportune, adjective, suitable or convenient for a particular situation or occurring at an appropriate time.
