Day 1

Good Morning East High School, it is a great day to be a Red Devil and these are your morning announcements. Please stand for the Pledge of Allegiance.

I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

Congratulations Itzel Chavarria-Castaneda! Itzel submitted a beautifully hand drawn design for the graduation program cover.  She won a free cap and gown and everyone at graduation will enjoy her awesome art work!

Attention Seniors: You received a Google Form from Ms. Altman for the 2022 Senior Superlatives! This is your chance to vote for your classmates for Best Bromance or Most Likely to Teach at East as well as other categories! The Form will be open until TODAY at 3pm.

Every two seconds, someone needs blood, according to the American Cancer Society.  What better way to meet that need than donating blood!  The East FFA is hosting their annual Spring Blood Drive on Wednesday, April 27th, from 8 until 3. If you are age 17 or 16 with parent’s consent, sign up for a time by going to: www.bit.ly/eastblood and type the sponsor code “OT134”  If you have any questions, please contact your blood drive coordinator, Jaedyn LaBrec!  Again: Donate blood, April 27th, save all the lives!  Thank you!

Day of Silence is a day where students take a vow of silence to recognize the members of the LGBTQIA+ community that have been silenced and oppressed for being who they are. This year's official day of silence falls on Friday, April 22nd, and if you plan to participate, you can pick up a Day of Silence card after school near Student Services. This card will signal to your teachers that you are choosing to be silent that day.  Leading up to Day of Silence this week, we will highlight each of the colors of the Rainbow Pride flag.  Today we wear the first color of the Pride flag, RED, which symbolizes life.  Please wear orange or yellow tomorrow!

GSA is hosting its first Queer Art Gala after school this Wednesday in Room 309.  In addition to being able to see the awesome creations submitted by your peers, you will also have an opportunity to create some of your own art and enjoy some delicious cupcakes.

Library: The East Library is celebrating Earth Week! What's happening? Starting today, you can participate in a Haiku Contest, make an Upcycled T-shirt Project, and donate to a Recycling Sock Program. This Saturday, from 9 AM-12 PM, you can be part of the change by meeting at East High for our annual Earth Day Clean-Up. Sign up in the library. Earn volunteer hours and beautify our neighborhood. See Ms. Ollmann for details.

Book Club: If you checked out the May Book Club book, Very Bad People, please check Google Classroom for a survey.

Attention Boys Tennis: Today's match with Ashwaubenon is canceled, please check your email for more details.

After School tutoring in Room 108 is canceled for today (Mon 4/18) and tomorrow (Tues 4/19). It will be open on Wednesday, April 20th.
