Day 1

Good Morning East high school, it is a great day to be a Red Devil and these are your morning announcements. Please stand for the Pledge of Allegiance.

I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

The average person has ten pints of blood in their body.  Can you spare one pint to donate to someone in need?  The East FFA is hosting their annual Spring Blood Drive on Wednesday, April 27th, from 8 until 3. If you are age 17 or 16 with parent’s consent, sign up for a time by going to: www.bit.ly/eastblood and type the sponsor code “OT134”  If you have any questions, please contact your blood drive coordinator, Jaedyn LaBrec!  Again: Last day to donate blood, April 27th, save all the lives!  Check your email if you’ve been a previous donor – there was an email sent this morning with an easy way to schedule your appointment.

Attention all senior AVID Students: If you are a senior and were previously in or currently in AVID this year, we are having an AVID meeting on Wednesday April 27th during 1st lunch in room 236. You will be excused from class for the first part of class if you have class then. Don't worry about lunch, AVID will have you covered and we will have food for you. Bring your chromebook because we will be filling out some AVID data while we eat.

Do you want to be a part of the decision making process at East? Do you want to help plan the school events and school spirit events? If so, then the student council  is for you. Stop in the main office and pick up an application and follow the instructions. Make sure to return it to the main office by May 5th.

Green Bay East Theatre Arts Presents Almost, Maine: Love can be magical. Love can be work. Love can be funny. Love can hurt. This year, the school play provides a glimpse into the town of Almost, Maine, a place so far north that it is almost in Canada. In Almost, Maine, we witness the Northern Lights appearing to watch over several couples and their conversations about their relationships that are changing in the strangest of ways. Come and experience Almost, Maine on April 29 and 30. Performances begin at 7:00 PM. Tickets are $5 for students and $7 for adults.

Library: Have you been to the library lately? Did you know that there are dozens of awesome works of art by East students on display? Take some time to look at the fabulous artwork in the library! There is also still time to submit your haiku for the Haiku Contest. The contest ends on Thursday.

Remember that big, red box outside the main entrance that collected electronic waste for recycling?  Through that collection in April, your Green Bay East FFA was able to recycle 612 individual electronics!  Thanks to you, we’ve prevented these from immediately going into a landfill & instead given to the Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary.  They get money from recycled electronics.  Consider saving your electronic waste, like batteries & cords, for our next drive next year!

Word of the Day: Hoary, adjective, so old or so familiar as to be dull or gray or white with or as if with age

These have been your morning announcements

Have a great National DNA Day and an amazing learning day
