Day 1

Good Morning East high school, it is a great day to be a Red Devil and these are your morning announcements. Please stand for the Pledge of Allegiance.

I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

Do you want to be a part of the decision making process at East? Do you want to help plan the school events and school spirit events? If so, then the student council  is for you. Stop in the main office and pick up an application and follow the instructions. Make sure to return it to the main office by May 5th.

Green Bay East Theatre Arts Presents Almost, Maine: Love can be magical. Love can be work. Love can be funny. Love can hurt. This year, the school play provides a glimpse into the town of Almost, Maine, a place so far north that it is almost in Canada. In Almost, Maine, we witness the Northern Lights appearing to watch over several couples and their conversations about their relationships that are changing in the strangest of ways. Come and experience Almost, Maine on April 29 and 30. Performances begin at 7:00 PM. Tickets are $5 for students and $7 for adults.

Seniors: Caps and gowns will be delivered on May 5th during the lunch hours please pick it up by the auditorium.

Nothing fishy here!  Your Green Bay East FFA invites both students & staff to come to help filet this year’s fish.  We start slicing on Wednesday, May 11, @ 3 pm.  Depending on the quality & quantities of the cuts, we hope to package these up, freeze, & donate a portion of the meat to a local food shelf, though we’ll have some for snack after all is cleaned up!  Reserve your spot with this link: http://bit.ly/eastfillet  Student permission form is linked on RSVP page or printed copies are in Mr. “Mark-cart”s room, 153.  Again: fish fileting, May 11 after school, must reserve through link!

Attention students: Dodgeball will be Wednesday May 4th. Yes, next week. Forms are in the main office and need to be in by Tuesday. Teams consist of 8 players, 4 boys and 4 girls and can be of mixed grade level. AS a reminder grades and attendance count!

Service hours are due to Ms. Kong TODAY at 3 pm. If you have any questions see Ms.Kong.

Library: Today is voting day in the library! Stop in the library to vote for your favorite haiku. There are 20 haiku entries! Voting ends at 3:15.

Congratulations goes to the girls soccer team after a 6-1 win over Shawano. Ellena Gallegos added 3 goals and 2 assists to her season totals, Judit Munoz Lopez fought through a nagging pain to put 2 goals in the back of the net and Cynthia Coronado Delgadillo stepped off the injured list and scored the final goal for the Lady Devils. Jamaya Mariner had another outstanding game in goal, holding Shawano scoreless until the final minutes of the game. A non conference home game Monday is the appetizer for a huge conference matchup Tuesday night against Xavier. Let's fill the bleachers and get loud.

Hey East Students: Next week is Teacher appreciation week and the student council wants you to say thank you to your teachers. Before school each day in the main office lobby student council members will have a table with Post-Its. You can write a note to say thanks to a specific teacher or to teachers in general. The Post its will then be added to the giant poster and at the end of the week they will be delivered to the teachers.  You can sign your name to them or they can be anonymous.

Center Stage Showcase - The 2022 Center Stage Showcase performance is Saturday, May 7th at the PAC in Appleton. Students in the musical theatre production of The Drowsy Chaperone are invited to attend and be a part of the event! East High will have students performing in the show, representing our school. Sign up for a free ticket to the event - see details and form in the musical google classroom or email Mrs. Tjoflat [email protected]

A big thank you to all the donors who gave blood this past Wednesday.  With your help, we collected twenty-five units of blood!  That’s a possible seventy-five lives saved through the life-giving blood rallied by our Green Bay East students & staff.  Shoutout to your FFA Blood Drive coordinator, Jaedyn LaBrec, & all the FFA volunteer helpers.  Be sure to check out FFA’s next blood drive in mid October.
