Day 2

Good Morning East high school, it is a great day to be a Red Devil and these are your morning announcements. Please stand for the Pledge of Allegiance.

I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

Attention all girls interested in playing golf next fall.  There is a sign-up form in the main office and join our Google Classroom code s46qeat for more information.

Hello from the Art Department: If you are an art student that had work in a display case or in the art show last week, it is now available and ready for pick-up.  Please stop into the art room right after school (between 3-3:15) any day this week to pick up your artwork.  It is a very busy time of year, don't forget your art!! ART!!!! Say it with me: ART!!!!

Seniors: If you have not yet picked up your cap and gown please come to the main office ASAP.

Attention anyone interested in playing volleyball in the fall...we will have a quick informational meeting about summer opportunities on Wed. May 25th at 7:00am in Room 225. I will have a summer calendar to provide.

East Cross Country: Do you like to run? Do you want to stay in shape for another sport? Are you looking for a group of people to run with and keep you motivated. Then the Cross Country team might be for you. There will be an informational meeting in the Cafe at 3:10 on May 25. Hope to see you there. If you have any questions feel free to contact Coach Arbour [email protected] or stop down to the gym.

Congratulations East Choir Students on a wonderful spring Concert Performance last night! Great work on your choir, small ensemble and solo pieces - Bravo!!

Congratulations to the East High Business Bowl team of Madeline Eckberg, Peter Kiernan, and Anika Sorenson who competed at the Business Bowl State Championship in Madison yesterday. After a tough loss in the preliminary round, losing by one question to one of the eventual top 5 finishing teams, the Red Devils regrouped and crushed their competition in every remaining match winning the lower bracket and taking home a cash award for their performance. Nice job Red Devils!

Attention current Link Crew Leaders:  please check our Google Classroom for a brief announcement from Mrs. Baumann.

Library: The cake and photo for any student who ever attended a Book Club meeting in the last four years is happening today right after these announcements. Please go to the library if you have ever attended a Book Club discussion. If you are a teacher who attended a Book Club meeting, you can bring your Home Base class to the library.

Students for Social Justice: Our last meeting is today after school.

From the Art Department:  Please join our Visual Fine Arts students in celebrating the successful creation of their spring project!  The students have been working with hand tools, grinders, and welders in order to dismantle and repurpose old bike frames and parts in order to create a large piece of functioning public sculpture!  There will be a public Ribbon Cutting this afternoon at 4:30 at the NWTC Artisan and Business Center (right behind the Art Garage).  Please feel free to come and celebrate our newest piece of public art in the community! Well done Artists!!

Also from the art room:  Any students with Mug Projects from Trimester 1 or 2 that need to finish glazing, today you can come in after school until 4:00 to finish up.  The final kiln firings of the year will be happening next week!

Library: Have you contributed to the Students Rebuild Challenge? Our goal for the end of today is 70 projects. We have 68 projects--8 posters and 60 pins. Our goal is 100 by June 3. Stop in the library to support one of four causes: Clean Oceans, Hunger Relief, Humanitarian Aid, and Overcome Bias. This is your chance to display your passion and creativity. You can globally connect with others and make a difference!

Word of the Day: Kibosh, noun, something that serves as a check or stop.

These have been your morning announcements

Have a great National Devil’s Food Cake Day and an amazing learning day.
