Day 2


Good Morning East high school, it is a great day to be a Red Devil and these are your morning announcements. Please stand for the Pledge of Allegiance. 


I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.


NEW Scholars: this is a reminder that your after-school programming begins THIS WEEK. 11th & 12th grades will meet today Thursday, September 15th from 3-5 p.m. Please check your school email or NEW Scholars Google Classroom for more updates. If you are not in NEW Scholars but you are interested in a fun and supportive way to get to college: you are welcome to join NEW Scholars! Stop by Student Services for more information about how to apply. There are only a couple of spots remaining so be sure to sign up as soon as possible!


Calling all students who are interested in being a part of a positive and energetic team! The Dancing Devils are having clinics and auditions!! Whether you have dancing for years or want to begin learning, all students are encouraged to try attend clinic days and audition. This is a great opportunity to be a part of an engaging and high spirited dance team. For more information stop by the dance room or email Mr. Esrom with any questions. Are you someone who is passionate about mental health and cares about your classmates' sense of wellbeing?  Are you creative and open to new ideas about how to make our school feel safe for everyone?  If so, you'd be an amazing addition to SASS, which stands for Suicide Awareness and Student Support.  Please email one of the social workers or come down to Student Services by Friday morning to let us know that you are interested in joining us this year.


Do you like talking to people and finding out what is going on? Do you enjoy writing and secretly desire to see your name in print? Do you want to see what it’s like to be a journalist? Then SCHOOL NEWSPAPER is for you! We need people like YOU to tell the stories of East High. If you are interested, join us for our first informational meeting on Wednesday, September 21st after school in room 306. Email Mrs. Van Ess with any questions.


If you are interested in joining the yearbook please email Ms. Blackford @ ambla[email protected] as soon as possible for information on our first meeting and meetings to follow.  If you have previously expressed interest check your email for information from Ms. Tobin or Ms. Blackford!

PTC - Performance Technologies Club: PTC begins next Monday, September 19th at 3:30 in the auditorium.  Any East student interested in learning about theatre production and technology is invited to attend and be a part of the PTC team. Students on the Newsies tech team should attend.  During the year PTC students have training and work practice in running all aspects of  productions and events.  Questions? Pizza Party/Meeting:  Music, Theatre, and Dance students - a reminder that the 

Pizza Party/Meeting is next week, Monday, September 19th at 6:00pm in the cafeteria.  Be sure to get the info sheet home to share with your parents/guardian. Copies also available in Google classroom.

 

Are you looking for a new and exciting club to join this year? Do you like business and marketing? Do you like solving real world problems? Are you looking to beef up your resume? Consider joining DECA at East this year. Our first meeting will be Tuesday, Sept. 20 after school in room 224. If you can't make it, stop in room 224 to see Mrs. V any time. See you then!


HOSA: Interested in joining HOSA- Health Occupation Students of America - Future Health Professionals? We will be having our first meeting Tuesday Sept 20th after school in room 133. During the year HOSA offers several hands-on opportunities and informational sessions. We start the school year off with preparing for our Fall Leadership Conference, guest speakers, service projects, participating in health professionals week and signing up for competitive events. HOSA is a Nationally recognized organization. If you are interested in anything health related come check us out! Again next Tuesday September 20th. Hey Red Devils! Are you in need of some new apparel? Next week we will be pre-selling our new spirit design before school. We have T-shirts, long sleeve T-shirts, crewnecks, and hoodies available in red, black and gray. Grab a form from the main office and drop off the form and payment before school next week. Form is attached HERE as well.


Hey Students: Homecoming is in two weeks, but we have an event that you can help your class in the spirit competition. Instead of PowderPuff we are playing Kickball. So find a team of 10 people, 5 boys and 5 girls, and pick up a sign up form in the office. Games will be Monday September 26th on the football field under the lights. This is a student engagement event so grades and attendance count. That includes tardies. 


Attention 9th, 10th, and 11th graders: Do you want to be your class representative on homecoming court? This means that you would represent your class at the pep rally, parade, game and at the dance. If so please stop in room 235 the week of September 19th. You can stop before school or during passing time. 


Attention ALL students: Do you need a quiet and focused environment to get some school work done? Looking for help with your schoolwork and your classroom teacher isn't available? After school tutoring starts NEXT WEEK, Monday, September 19th!

We have a NEW location this year -- Room 126. The study session will run from 3:10 pm until 4:00 pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.  See you there! 


Students for Social Justice: Are you still looking for a club to join? Do you want to be a changemaker at East High School? Do you have questions about current events and want to know more facts?  Do you want to learn about other cultures and participate in celebrations? Do you want to help plan a Hispanic Heritage Fiesta? If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, you should plan to come to the library after school today. Today from 3:15-4:00, Students for Social Justice is meeting. There will be ice cream! See Ms. Ollmann if you have any questions.


Dinner: As a reminder hot meals and snacks are served in the cafeteria from 3:00 pm-3:30 pm Monday-Thursday. There is no dinner on Fridays


Sporting events: If you are looking for something to do tonight come cheer on the JV Soccer team playing Hortonville at 4:30 pm, and Varsity Soccer is playing West at 6:30 pm. Student cost is $3.00 Adults is $5.00 for admittance.
