Day 2

Good Morning East high school, it is a great day to be a Red Devil and these are your morning announcements. Please stand for the Pledge of Allegiance.

I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

Attention 9th, 10th, and 11th graders: Do you want to be your class representative on homecoming court? This means that you would represent your class at the pep rally, parade, game and at the dance. If so please stop in room 235 this week. You can stop before school or during passing time.

Guest forms for the Homecoming Dance are now available in the Attendance office. The guest dance form must be turned in by September 28th. Any forms turned in after, will be denied.

JOIN FBLA: HEY! I can’t help but notice your resume and college application looks pretty weak in the extracurricular involvement area. I know, I know, you’re busy playing Fortnight with your friends every night and you're too “busy”. Employers and colleges want applicants who are involved at school.  They also want people with a proven record of SUCCESS.  Joining FBLA will give you the edge you need.  FBLA stands for Future Business Leaders of America.  It is the premier organization for business students with over a quarter of a million members nationwide. FBLA members compete in a variety of business events at the Regional, State, and National level. If you make it to Nationals this year you’ll be going to Atlanta, Georgia! Membership is free so there's no reason not to join. See Mr. Christy in room 222 and he’ll get you signed up.  Our first meeting is Thursday, October 6th at 7am in room 222. Success starts here. Join FBLA today!

Attention 10th and 11th graders--please check your email for registration information and the registration LINK for PSAT.  The test will be here at East High School on OCT 12th!  The link to register is in your student email!  Any questions can be directed to Mrs. Seaborn in student services or Mrs. Kong in the career center.

Due to lack of kickball teams we will allow teams to have mixed grades but cannot score points in the spirit competition. Right now we have a staff team and the sophomores. Please turn in forms by end of the day to the office

Newsies Cast: Review the practice details in the musical calendar for next week.

Newsies Tech and PTC Students: You are invited to attend musical practice in the auditorium on Monday - bring your script for notes!

Theatre Make-Up:  The musical tech team is looking for students who are interested in being a part of the make-up crew for the show - please contact Mrs. Tjoflat for information [email protected]

Bisexual Visibility Day: This past week has been Bisexuality Awareness Week. Today is Bisexual Visibility Day which is about bringing awareness to bisexuality and the problems these individuals have who identify as bisexual. Studies from the Human Rights Campaign have shown that individuals who identify as bisexual face more violence and discrimination in school areas than their queer counterparts and are less likely to be comfortable about being open with their identity with others. So lets help support our LGBTQ+, especially our bisexual peers. Lets end this discrimination together.

Library: Thursday's trivia answer was 3. The winner was Anthony Fifield.

Here is today's trivia question: What book on the Top 10 Challenged List is set in 1937 in New London, Texas?

Students for Social Justice: Students for Social Justice is meeting today after school. We will meet in the library until 4 PM. New members are welcome. See Ms. Ollmann if you have questions.

Sports update:  Congrats to the soccer team on another shutout win against Menasha last night.
