Day 1

Good Morning East high school, it is a great day to be a Red Devil and these are your morning announcements. Please stand for the Pledge of Allegiance.

I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

Ladies, if you are interested in playing basketball we will be having an open gym Sunday October 30th @ 6:30pm-8pm. Come get some shots up and have open runs.

Hey Students, Halloween is right around the corner and the junior class has the gift for you, Boo Bags! What is a Boo Bag? Well it is a bag  of various tricks and treats that will be delivered to the person of your choosing on Halloween during advisory. How do you Boo someone? Stop in the main office lobby this week before or after school  and pay $2 per bag and then fill out the gift tag. You can send them to your friends, boyfriend, girlfriend, secret crush, teachers, administrators or you could send one to yourself to see what is inside. Each bag will be a little bit different and some may have a bonus surprise like a gift card!

Latino Club: Our next meeting will be after school on Thursday, October 27th in room 234. If you were unable to attend our September meeting but are still interested in being part of Latino Club, please join us! All students are welcome!

Book Club: Book Club meets this Wednesday during lunch hours. Please bring your copy of A Heart in a Body in the World to our book discussion.

Students for Social Justice: Students for Social Justice meets this Wednesday after school. See Ms. Ollmann if you have questions.

It's Socktober in the library this week! Students for Social Justice is collecting new socks for East's Caring Closet. Bring pairs of new socks to help reach our collection goal of 1 million socks, or just 100. This Thursday is Crazy Sock Day. Wear your craziest socks for a chance to win a Kit Kat and Kavarna gift card. Socks are collected in the library.

Attention Link Crew Leaders: There will be a very super-duper brief meeting after school tomorrow in room 301.  Be there or be a pumpkin.

Library: Please check your email. Every Monday, the library sends overdue notices. If you checked out a book at the beginning of the year, it is likely due. Stop in the library today to return or renew your books.

Thank you to the students and staff that supported the East boys soccer team this season. Although they lost to Brookfield this weekend in a regional final game, the team had one of the best seasons in a long time. Congratulations to the boys soccer team.

Word of the Day: Genteel, adjective, elegant or graceful in manner, appearance, or shape. It could also mean marked by false delicacy, prudery, or affectation.

These have been your morning announcements

Have a great United Nations Day and great learning day.
