Day 1

Good Morning East high school, it is a great day to be a Red Devil and these are your morning announcements. Please stand for the Pledge of Allegiance.

I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

Ladies, if you are interested in playing basketball we will be having an open gym Sunday October 30th @ 6:30pm-8pm. Come get some shots up and have open runs.

GSA will be meeting after school in the LMC.  All students are welcome to attend.  If you have any questions about the club, please see Ms. Wetzel or Ms. Frank.

Hey Students, Halloween is right around the corner and the junior class has the gift for you, Boo Bags! What is a Boo Bag? Well it is a bag  of various tricks and treats that will be delivered to the person of your choosing on Halloween during advisory. How do you Boo someone? Stop in the main office lobby this week before or after school and pay $2 per bag and then fill out the gift tag. You can send them to your friends, boyfriend, girlfriend, secret crush, teachers, administrators or you could send one to yourself to see what is inside. Each bag will be a little bit different and some may have a bonus surprise like a gift card!

The next meeting of your Green Bay East FFA is Tuesday, November 1st @ 3:15 in the Agriscience Room 153. In honor of National “Pizza With the Works Except for Anchovies Day” later in November AND because our Sectional State FFA Officer will be present, we will have pizza! Attention 10th-grade students in NEW Scholars: as a reminder, the NEW Scholars staff will NOT be meeting you to board the bus that goes to Preble High School for after-school programming today. All you need to do is follow the same routine as the last few weeks, which is to meet in the cafeteria right after school and then board the bus to go to Preble. The bus leaves at 3:08 p.m. and if you are not there, you will need to get yourself to Preble. This announcement is also posted in Google Classroom.

Do you know that East High School has a Boys Swim Team?   It is a co-op program with all 4 high schools.  We train at the Southwest pool after school from 4 to 6:15 pm daily plus other times. We have had great swimmers from East High School, and are looking for a few more.  The only requirement is that you can swim 100 yards and love to swim.  Competitive swimming experience is not necessary for joining the team.  The season starts on November 14th, and runs through mid-February.

Anime Club is Back!  Come watch your favorite Anime episodes next Tuesday, November 1st in Room 318. There will be snacks too. See you there!

Book Club: Book Club meets today! Please bring your copy of A Heart in a Body in the World to our book discussion. Stop in the library if you need a pass to the cafeteria.

Students for Social Justice: Students for Social Justice meets today after school. See Ms. Ollmann if you have questions.

Did you know that one of the easiest ways to feel part of a community is helping people? Here at East, it's Socktober in the library! What does that mean? You can bring new socks for East's Caring Closet. Your donation is helping people right here in our East Red Devil Community. We have collected 20 pairs of socks! Tomorrow is Crazy Sock Day! Wear your craziest socks for a chance to win a Kit Kat and Kavarna gift card.

We at East High School acknowledge that we are located on land and water that is the current and ancestral homeland of the Menominee Indian Nation, the Ho-Chunk Nation and home of the Oneida Nation. We honor and respect the many diverse Indigenous spiritual and physical caretakers of this land who have retained tribal sovereignty, treaty rights, and cultural resilience. We uphold our responsibility to repair relationships, initiate partnerships, and stand with members of these and all First Nations.

Word of the Day: Peculiar, adjective, describes people and things that are different from the usual or normal, or that are characteristic of only one person, group, or thing.
