Day 1

Good Morning East high school, it is a great day to be a Red Devil and these are your morning announcements. Please stand for the Pledge of Allegiance.

I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

GSA will be meeting after school in the LMC.  All students are welcome to attend.  If you have any questions about the club, please see Ms. Wetzel or Ms. Frank.

Attention Music Students: The Seroogy's/Happy Joe's Fundraiser will be ready for pick up next week, Tuesday, Nov. 8, after school in the hallway near door 9.

Do you know that East High School has a Boys Swim Team?   It is a co-op program with all 4 high schools.  We train at the Southwest pool after school from 4 to 6:15 pm daily plus other times. We have had great swimmers from East High School, and are looking for a few more.  The only requirement is that you can swim 100 yards and love to swim.  Competitive swimming experience is not necessary for joining the team.  The season starts on November 14th, and runs through mid-February.

ASVAB testing November 9,2022 at 7:30 am in the Career Center. What is the ASVAB test for?The ASVAB is a standardized test that reveals areas of strength and ability in science, math, and language. Taking the test is one of the first steps before you enlist in the Military. Last day to sign up is November 8, 2022.

Boys Basketball will have an open gym TODAY and Tomorrow from 4:00pm to 5:30pm.

Buff Puff is set for November 10th. What is Buff Puff? It is an event where kids compete to see who can have the best volleyball team at East. A little change this year since we no longer have Powder Puff for girls is that we are going to make BUFF PUFF co ed. That means mixed teams from the same grade. FORMS are in the main office and must be turned in by November 9th to the main office. This is a student engagement event so that means grades and attendance count!

Yearbook:  Meeting tomorrow @ 7am, bring your computers

Students for Social Justice: Please stop in the library after school today for a very quick meeting. Check your email for details.

Library: "Day of the Dead (Dia De Los Muertos) is a two day holiday that reunites the living and dead. Families create ofrendas (offerings) to honor their departed family members that have passed. These altars are decorated with bright yellow marigold flowers, photos of the departed, and the favorite foods and drinks of the one being honored." Skulls, calaveras, are also seen during Day of the Dead, which started on November 1st and ends on November 2nd. Skulls (calaveras) take many forms such as sugar candies, clay decorations, and face painting. In the library, Students for Social Justice is sponsoring a skull coloring page contest. The library has the supplies. Bring your coloring skills to the library for a chance to win a Starbucks Gift Card. The contest ends tomorrow at 3:15.https://education.nationalgeographic.org/resource/what-day-dead

We at East High School acknowledge that we are located on land and water that is the current and ancestral homeland of the Menominee Indian Nation, the Ho-Chunk Nation and home of the Oneida Nation. We honor and respect the many diverse Indigenous spiritual and physical caretakers of this land who have retained tribal sovereignty, treaty rights, and cultural resilience. We uphold our responsibility to repair relationships, initiate partnerships, and stand with members of these and all First Nations.

Word of the Day: Fustigate, verb, to criticize severely

These have been your morning announcements

Have a great Day of the Dead and an amazing learning day.
