Day 1

Good Morning East high school, it is a great day to be a Red Devil and these are your morning announcements. Please stand for the Pledge of Allegiance.

I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

GSA will be meeting after school in the LMC.  All students are welcome to attend.  If you have any questions about the club, please see Ms. Wetzel or Ms. Frank.

Want to know more about the Junior Prom dance planning? Interested in participating in the planning committee options? Want to partake in the theme discussion and nomination? Come to Room 242 NEXT WEEK Wednesday, December 14th, at 3:05pm for a detailed meeting with Mrs. DeJardin. The meeting will last until 3:45pm.

Hey Red Devils! Do you want to help out your fellow classmates and have a chance to win gift card prizes? The week of December 12-16th the student council will be having a priority food drive. Our Eats for East Pantry is in need of certain items. If you bring in one of these items in the flyer you will be given a raffle ticket for each one. We will be collecting these in the main office lobby before school. We have gift cards to Target, Subway, Scooters, Starbucks, and McDonalds. Prizes are between $5-$20. Please think about helping your classmates.

Native to Mexico, the poinsettia loves warm weather.  How poinsettias ever became winter gifts in Wisconsin is beyond us!  The Poinsettia Sale will take place in the East Greenhouse Friday, December ninth from 3-6 pm. and Saturday, December tenth from 10 am. - 2 pm.  A large, two plant arrangement of red and white poinsettias are eighteen dollars each and a one plant poinsettias are eight dollars each.  Again: Poinsettias, this Friday after school & Saturday from 10 until 2, at the greenhouse!

Attention Juniors: Time is running out. If you’re a junior who is interested in being considered for Senior Internship next year you need to see Mr. Christy ASAP. Senior Internship is a program for ambitious students who want to get a head start on their career and distinguish themselves from the rest of the job-hunting crowd.  Are you the person we are searching for?  The ideal candidate is an outgoing individual who wants to earn high school credit, gain real-world work experience in the career they hope to pursue, and get PAID for working at a challenging job during their senior year.  Do you think you have what it takes?  Then see Mr. Christy in room 222 or 226 for more information.  Space is limited so if you’re interested you need to see Mr. Christy as soon as possible.

Library: Friday is the last day of the "Glovesgiving" Drive. Stop in the library if you have any questions. Please check your email for a survey from me, the librarian. I want to know what you think of the library, so please take some time to answer the survey questions.

We at East High School acknowledge that we are located on land and water that is the current and ancestral homeland of the Menominee Indian Nation, the Ho-Chunk Nation and home of the Oneida Nation. We honor and respect the many diverse Indigenous spiritual and physical caretakers of this land who have retained tribal sovereignty, treaty rights, and cultural resilience. We uphold our responsibility to repair relationships, initiate partnerships, and stand with members of these and all First Nations.

Word of the Day: Lachrymose, adjective, used to describe someone who tends to cry often, or something that tends to cause people to cry.

These have been your morning announcements

Have an amazing National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day and a fantastic learning day!
