Day 1


Good Morning East High School, it is a great day to be a Red Devil and these are your morning announcements. Please stand for the Pledge of Allegiance. 


I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.


GSA will be meeting after school in the LMC.  All students are welcome to attend.  If you have any questions about the club, please see Ms. Wetzel or Ms. Frank.


Hey East students: Did you miss out on the spirit apparel sale last time and want to get something or want to add your collection. If so, stop in the main office or print off the order form and follow the instructions to order new apparel. An email was sent to your school email as well. Orders are due by January 12th


Yearbook! Meeting this Thursday at 7 in Mrs Tobin’s room.  


Yearbook updates: Please get your senior pictures into Ms. Blackford by March 3rd.

Also, still haven’t ordered a yearbook?  You can still purchase a yearbook at yearbookforever.com or in the main office.  


Seniors: The cap and gown rep will be here during lunches on January 19th he will be set up in the cafeteria lobby. Cost is $30.00. 


ASVAB Testing: What is ASVAB testing you ask? It is an Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery is a multiple-aptitude battery (test) that measures developed abilities and helps predict future academic and occupational success in the military. You can now sign up in the Career Center with Ms. Kong to take the ASVAB.  This does not commit you to anything, but it can help you figure out your career interests and plans for after graduation.  The test helps explore career interests in general.  The Test will be February 8, 2023 7:30-11 AM. Last day to sign up is February 6, 2023. If you have any questions see Ms. Kong!


Softball: Any girls interested in Softball please come to the informational meeting TODAY at 4:00 at West High School in the Thune Center. Any questions please contact Coach Wehausen at [email protected].


HOSA: We will be having a HOSA meeting today after school in room 133.  Please be sure to join us as we have lots of things to discuss and events coming up!

 

East Track and Field there will be a short informational meeting for anyone interested in or think they might be interested in joining the track team. The meeting will be  in the fitness room(next to the small gym)  right after school on Thursday January 12. If you can't make it please email Coach Arbour at [email protected] .


There is a Tennis Fundraiser this Sunday, January 15th from 2pm - 4pm at Willow Creek Bowling Alley.  Cost is $15 per person for 2 hours of bowling, and includes shoes.  Please help support the boys and girls tennis team.  RSVP using the link in the announcements.

 

NHS members, we will be having our monthly meeting next Tuesday at 7 am in room 309.  We will be taking a yearbook picture so please wear your NHS shirts.

 

Book Club: Book Club meets next week, January 18, to discuss I Must Betray You. Stop in the library if you need a copy of this award-winning historical fiction novel.

 

Attention students: Silent Night is a few weeks away and one part of Silent Night is the wing eating contest against West. We need to put a team together. If you are interested there is a sign up in the Main Office. A few details: We need a 5 person team that can eat 50 Hot wings as fast as possible. Also, grades and attendance count so think of that before you sign up.

Attention Juniors and Seniors…Do you have blood??  Maybe a little more than you need? You should consider giving some away!!!   Help save a life by donating blood on Wednesday, January 25th through the Community Blood Center’s blood drive hosted by HOSA.  This blood drive is open to students 16 years old or older.  16 year olds will need parent permission, but 17 and older do not.  The blood drive is being held during the school day so as an extra added bonus, you get to get out of class.  Students, just so you know, you will receive 2 volunteer hours for donating. 1 for you and 1 for the life you are helping to save.
