Day 2

Good Morning East High School, it is a great day to be a Red Devil and these are your morning announcements. Please stand for the Pledge of Allegiance.

I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

Yearbook updates: Please get your senior pictures into Ms. Blackford by March 3rd. SENIORS THIS IS NEXT WEEK! Additionally, seniors if your parents would like to include a senior tribute in the yearbook have them go to yearbookforever.com to upload

photos and text to include.  These could include good luck for college/workforce and/or baby pictures and are a special remembrance of your time in school.

Also, if you still haven’t ordered a yearbook?  You can still purchase a yearbook at yearbookforever.com or in the main office for $55. Don't miss out on your chance at purchasing a yearbook to remember your time at East!

Claim your free drink coupon in room one fifty three by the end of the day!  Here’s today’s question: What material is the FFA jacket made of? A. Leather, B. Polyester, C. No jacket, or D. Corduroy.  Again: trivia, office & library, last question chance!

Library: THANK YOU to all of our student and staff readers at the African American Author Readathon! You were brave, and your voice was meaningful. What a spectacular event! Thank you for creating a community in the library.

Continue to show your love in the library! Support the Welcoming Refugees Postcard Project. Top effort and best postcard artwork earns you a chance to win gift cards. Winners will be chosen on February 28. In February, your time and talent donates $10 to organizations to help refugees in our community. Stop in the library with any questions.

Students for Social Justice: We meet today after school from 3:10-3:45. Please check your email for updates.

Book Club: Book Club met last week. Please return your copy of Punching the Air and pick up our next book: Queen of the Tiles. It's a mystery: a dead girl at a highly competitive Scrabble championship. There are word clues, many suspects, and a best friend who's on the case.

Attention all Red Devils! This is your chance to experience Red Devil Jazz and the award winning Rhapsody in Red! Shows are tonight (Friday) and tomorrow night (Saturday). Tickets are $6 for students (sorry, no activity passes), $8 for adults, and the show starts at 7pm. We have been told that the price of the ticket is completely worth it just to see the Combo Dance. See you there!

In recognition of the longest inhabitant of East high, a chemistry wizard that can convert moles into Avogadro's number while at the same time changing a liquid into a gas as he breathes out, we would like to wish Mr. Arts the happiest 67th birthday tomorrow. The chemistry teacher that only teaches things that matter.

Word of the Day: Hiatus, noun, refers to a period of time when something, such as an activity or program, is suspended.

These have been your morning announcements.

Have a great National Tortilla Chip Day and great learning day!
