Day 1


Good Morning East High School, it is a great day to be a Red Devil and these are your morning announcements. Please stand for the Pledge of Allegiance. 


I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.


Seniors: This is a reminder that the order deadline for caps and gowns is TODAY!! Please come to the office to order or order online at https://greenbayeast.shopoakhalli.com. Again, the last day to order is TODAY. Cost is $30.00.


GSA will be meeting in Room 113 to work on our projects for the upcoming 2nd Annual GSA Art Gala Night.  Everyone is welcome to attend.  You are welcome to bring your own supplies if you'd like, however a variety of art supplies will be provided by GSA.


Seniors: If you STILL have not sent Ms Blackford your Senior picture it needs to be sent by THIS WEEK FRIDAY 3/17


PIE DAY BIDDING:  Today is the last day to bid on who gets to pie Ms. Blackford, Mr. Flynn Buggs, and Ms. Tobin this Friday. Highest bidder gets to deliver the pie to their face.  Staff AND students are welcome to bid.  The bidding sheets are located on the windows of Ms. Blackford’s room.  Bidding closes at 3:15pm


Attention boys interested in playing golf this spring.  If you would like to sign up please see Ms. Mathu in the office to sign up.  Again, if you have not signed up to play boys golf this spring, please see Ms. Mathu in the office.  


Attention Boys:  We are looking for high school boys interested in giving tennis a try.  We will have our organizational meeting Thursday March 16th right after school in room 107.  We have everything you need - rackets, tennis balls, and Nike hoodies and gear.  We have players come out each Spring who have just started and they have a blast.  You can give it a try for a week and if you don't like it, that is OK.  Come to the meeting for information and check us out!  Any questions come see Coach Calo in 107.


There will be an informational meeting for all students interested in going to Trees for Tomorrow after school on Thursday in room 209. If you can't attend the meeting, please contact Mrs. Bulkowski or Mr. Hendricksen

 

Have you ever wondered what that word Ramadan means on your calendar?  This year Ramadan begins during Spring Break - March 22nd.  On Thursday, March 16th, the MSA Club is holding a Ramadan Review for all students and teachers.  Come and find out more about Ramadan, why Muslims at East high school observe Ramadan, and afterwards enjoy some wonderful Ramadan related foods.  The Ramadan Review is Thursday, March 16th after school in Room 309.  Hope you can make it!

 

Hey Students and Teachers: This Friday, March 17th is BEACH DAY!  Yes, we can wear our shorts, t-shirts, beach hats, and shades to school. Let's have fun with this RDP celebration by playing games in the gym or making a craft during lunch hours.  On March 17th show your Red Devil Pride by being a beach bum.


Attention class of 2024 senior internship students: There is a short meeting for students who signed up for Senior Internship for next year on Thursday, March 16th at 3pm in room 222. All classes of 2024 Senior Internship students are expected to attend this meeting. If you cannot make it you need to contact Mr. Christy sometime before this meeting. Again, class of 2024 senior internship meeting Thursday, 3pm in room 222.

 

Library: Several students submitted fabulous postcards for the February Gift Card Contest. The top postcard was created by Charlie VanLoon. Way to go! You won a Marcus Movie Gift Card! If you submitted a postcard, check out the library window to see if yours is on display; a few winning postcards did not have a name. Other winners include: Jennifer Duarte Castillo, Rosario Escobar-Pacheco, Ava Mielcarek, Yuritzi Aranda, Luisa Belteton-Moreno, Lyra Houston, and Estefany Valenzuela Castro. Stop in for your prize today! There are more chances to win. On May 1, more winning postcards will be selected. Please join the Welcoming Refugees Project. Our May 1 goal is 100 postcards. We're halfway there!

 

Book Club: Book Club meets today. Stop in the library if you need a pass to get your lunch from the cafeteria.
