Day 2

Good Morning East High School, it is a great day to be a Red Devil and these are your morning announcements. Please stand for the Pledge of Allegiance.

I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

On April 28th, the GBAPS is hosting a GSA Empowerment Summit at UW-Green Bay. The summit is an opportunity for GSA students to explore topics affecting the LGBTQIA+ community and connect with other GSA students from across the district. Students who are interested will need to pick up a permission form from Student Services.  Permission forms will need to be signed by a parent/guardian and returned to Ms. Frank or Mrs. Wetzel in Student Services by April 1st, 2023.

If you received an invitation to apply for National Honor Society, applications are due this Friday March 31st by midnight.  If you have questions or need help with the application, please see Mrs. McGrath in room 234 or Mr. Garay in room 110.

Fine Arts Institute students: Please report to the auditorium for a special presentation during home base.

Yearbook Club:  Please check your email for information about our next meeting.

MSA Club: There is a meeting today after school in Room 318. See you there!

Latino Club: Our next meeting will be after school TODAY in room 234. All students are welcome!

Club Latino: Nuestra próxima reunión se llevará a cabo hoy, en el salón 234. ¡Todos los estudiantes están invitados!

Transgender Day of Visibility is Friday March 31st. The day is dedicated to celebrating the accomplishments of transgender and gender diverse people while raising awareness of the work that still needs to be done to achieve trans justice.  Visit the library to see an informational display and check out 10 books by trans authors telling trans stories. If you have any questions or concerns or find yourself needing support, please see Ms. Frank or Mrs. Wetzel.

Book Club: Copies of this month's award-winning Book Club book How Moon Fuentez Fell in Love with the Universe are available for checkout. The next meeting is April 19.

Library: If you filled out a library survey last Trimester and left a comment or book suggestion, you should have received a note from Ms. Ollmann. If a note wasn't personally delivered to you with some chocolate, please stop in the library. As always, your feedback is appreciated!

Were you an African American Author Readathon reader? If you read on February 22, make sure to stop at the School Store for your popcorn or cookie today after school!

Have you heard about the latest postcard goal?  Our May 1 goal is 100 postcards. We're halfway there! There are more chances to win gift cards. On May 1, more winning postcards will be selected. Please join the Welcoming Refugees Project. Stop in the library for supplies and ideas!

Word of the Day: Golum, noun, a Jewish folklore to an artificial humanoid being endowed with life.

These have been your morning announcements

Have a great National Pencil Day and a great learning day!
