Day 1

Good Morning East High School, it is a great day to be a Red Devil and these are your morning announcements. Please stand for the Pledge of Allegiance.

I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

Attention seniors: If you are a senior in good standing and you want to make a lasting impression, please consider auditions for the Class of 2023 Commencement Speech at graduation. This year’s class motto is: “You don't have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step.” Auditions will be held on Wednesday, April 19 at 3:15 in Room 320. Please see either Ms. Amschler or Ms. Imlay for more information or sign up using the Google Form.

Seniors: This is the last week for your family to buy and submit a Senior Tribute for the yearbook at yearbookforever.com.  The cut off date is this Friday the 21st.

Blood Drive: The average person has ten pints of blood in their body.  Can you spare one pint to donate to someone in need?  The East FFA is hosting their Spring Blood Drive on Wednesday, April 19, from 8 until 3. If you are age 18, 17, or 16 with parent’s consent, sign up for a time by going to: www.bit.ly/eastblood and type the sponsor code “OT134”  If you have any questions, please contact your blood drive coordinator, Josie Van Beek!  Again: Donate blood, April 19, save all the lives!  Thank you!

Attention 10th and 11th Graders: Link Crew is looking for future leaders who want to give back to East, build leadership skills, and earn service hours by working with incoming freshmen.  If any 10th or 11th graders are interested in becoming Leaders for next school year, click the link in the virtual announcements, see the signs posted around school, or see Mrs. Baumann in Room 301 by Friday, April 21st.

Have you taken an Agriscience class this year, between March 2022 through March 2023? Then your Green Bay East FFA chapter has a cash award application for you!  By submitting your Supervised Agricultural Experience (or SAE) Portfolio done in Agriscience class, you can apply for awards through the FFA.  Top placing applications have the potential for a cash award, thanks to generous community support from the FFA Alumni.  Just go to https://bit.ly/eastsae & complete the quick Google Form application.  You have until Tuesday, April 25, to apply!  Feel free to email Mr. Mark-cart ([email protected]) if you have any questions!

Library:It's Monday! Monday means an email if you have an overdue book. Please stop in the library to return or renew overdue books. Today is also the day that you need a pink pass if you are not passing a class. Everyone is welcome to be in the library for study hall. A pink pass from your teacher is required if you are not passing a class this trimester.

Earth Day is Saturday! You can celebrate outdoors by meeting at East High for our annual Earth Day Cleanup. Clean up starts at 9 AM this Saturday. Wear clothes and shoes that allow for walking and trash collecting. To sign-up, see the Google Doc in your Homebase or in the library.

Live in the Library is back! As a culminating event during National Library Week, you are invited to share your voice in the library. Your performance could be musical--singing or instrumental--or spoken word--poetry or short story. We also have a karaoke machine! Live in the Library is taking place all day on Friday, April 28. Stop in the library to sign up or ask questions.

Attention Freshmen:  In preparation for Earth Day and this Saturday's school cleanup, please join Link Crew after school on Wednesday to paint some rocks that we can then leave in the community as we work to clean up our planet.  Again, this is for freshmen.  Come and join us with rock painting after school on Wednesday, April 19th.

Word of the Day: Hackles, noun, the hairs along the neck and back of an animal especially a dog that are capable of being raised to a stiff, upright position as when a dog is frightened or angry.

These have been your morning announcements

Have a great Patriots’ Day and a great learning day!
