Day 2

Good Morning East High School, it is a great day to be a Red Devil and these are your morning announcements. Please stand for the Pledge of Allegiance.

I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

Attention sophomores: Wednesday April 19th is Forward Exam testing. Look for an email from Mrs. Bleier to let you know which classroom you will report to in advisory to begin testing. Please remember to bring your chromebook fully charged and your charging cord.

Do you have old, broken, or dead electronics at home?  Consider the environment, skip throwing it in the landfill, & bring them to East!  Your Green Bay East FFA has an Electronics Recycling Box inside the main office from now until April 21st.  Consider this for next Spring, too - we hope to make this an annual, every year thing.  If your electronic is on the poster list, we’ll recycle it for free!  Questions can be directed to Mr. Mark-cart in room 153.

Attention seniors: If you are a senior in good standing and you want to make a lasting impression, please consider auditions for the Class of 2023 Commencement Speech at graduation. This year’s class motto is: “You don't have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step.” Auditions will be held on Wednesday April 19, at 3:15 in Room 320. Please see either Ms. Amschler or Ms. Imlay for more information or sign up using the Google Form.

Seniors: This is the last week for your family to buy and submit a Senior Tribute for the yearbook at yearbookforever.com.  The cut off date is this Friday the 21st.

Blood Drive: If you’re baking & you don’t have eggs, you can substitute it for applesauce.  Unlike baking, there’s no substitute for human blood. Instead, it comes from donation blood drives like the East FFA’s Spring Blood Drive on Wednesday, April 19, from 8 until 3. If you are age 18, 17, or 16 with parent’s consent, sign up for a time by going to: www.bit.ly/eastblood and type the sponsor code “OT134”  If you have any questions, please contact your blood drive coordinator, Josie Van Beek!  Again: Donate blood, April 19, save all the lives!  Thank you!

Attention 9th-10th and 11th graders: Please check your emails for the Intra city student council ballot so you can vote for East's representatives next year.

Attention 10th and 11th Graders: Link Crew is looking for future leaders who want to give back to East, build leadership skills, and earn service hours by working with incoming freshmen.  If any 10th or 11th graders are interested in becoming Leaders for next school year, click the link in the virtual announcements, see the signs posted around school, or see Mrs. Baumann in Room 301 by Friday, April 21st.

Have you taken an Agriscience class this year, between March 2022 through March 2023? Then your Green Bay East FFA chapter has a cash award application for you!  By submitting your Supervised Agricultural Experience (or SAE) Portfolio done in Agriscience class, you can apply for awards through the FFA.  Top placing applications have the potential for a cash award, thanks to generous community support from the FFA Alumni.  Just go to https://bit.ly/eastsae & complete the quick Google Form application.  You have until Tuesday, April 25, to apply!  Feel free to email Mr. Mark-cart ([email protected]) if you have any questions!

Attention Freshmen:  In preparation for Earth Day and this Saturday's school cleanup, please join Link Crew after school on Wednesday to paint some rocks that we can then leave in the community as we work to clean up our planet.  Again, this is for freshmen.  Come and join us with rock painting after school on Wednesday, April 19th.

Students: Have you purchased your yearbook yet?  The cut off date for purchase is May 1st .  Please purchase in the main office or at the website yearbookforever.com for $55.

Seniors: Please check your emails for the senior superlatives form.  Directions are included in the google form and responses are due next Wednesday, April 26th by 3pm.

Library: Everyone is welcome to be in the library for study hall. A pink pass from your teacher is required if you are not passing a class this trimester. Check IC, so you know your current grades.

Earth Day is Saturday! You can celebrate outdoors by meeting at East High for our annual Earth Day Cleanup. Clean up starts at 9 AM this Saturday. Wear clothes and shoes that allow for walking and trash collecting. To sign-up, see the Google Doc in your Homebase or in the library.

Live in the Library is back! As a culminating event during National Library Week, you are invited to share your voice in the library. Your performance could be musical--singing or instrumental--or spoken word--poetry or short story. We also have a karaoke machine! Live in the Library is taking place all day on Friday, April 28. Stop in the library to sign up or ask questions.

Book Club: Book Club meets tomorrow during lunch hours. Please bring your copy of How Moon Fuentez Fell in Love with the Universe to the discussion. The book is about love and food and the love of food, so there will be a special treat for readers tomorrow!

Events of the Week: Girls Soccer vs Menasha, JV @ 4:30pm, Varsity @ 6:30pm. Cost to get in is $5.00 for Adults, $3.00 for Students.

Word of the Day: Dolorous 🔊, adjective causing, marked by, or expressing misery or grief

These have been your morning announcements

Have a great National Haiku Poetry Day and a great learning day!
