Day 2


Good Morning East High School, it is a great day to be a Red Devil and these are your morning announcements. Please stand for the Pledge of Allegiance. 


I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.


The Art Department invites you to attend the annual East High School Art Exhibit on Friday, May 12 from 6-8pm!  Come and see your art, and the artwork your classmates have been working on all year!  Charcoal portraits!  Mixed Media Art and Assemblages! Acrylic Paintings! Textural art pieces! Drawings and more!  We are so proud of all of your hard work!  We would love for you to bring family and friends to see the work too!

Also, Students and staff are welcome to visit the library to preview  the art that will be on display Friday, May 12th.  The art in your East High LMC is on display from now until Thursday, May 11th. As Albert Einstein once said, "Creativity is intelligence and having fun!"  Enjoy the amazing artwork created by our brilliant art students!

 

Attention 9th - 10th and 11th graders: Please check your email from Mr. VandenHouten with the subject Student Council Class Elections and vote for the people you want to represent you next year on the council. You have until Friday to vote. 

 

Music Banquet: Band, Choir, Orchestra, Musical Theatre Students - RSVPs are due May 19th for  Music Awards Banquet. Info and forms available in the music department. 

 

Attention all students interested in a nursing job career!  HOSA will be hosting an informational meeting next week Wednesday, May 17th, after school in room 133.  We have a guest speaker who will be outlining the different kinds of jobs there are in nursing and what the educational requirements are. Did you know that you could become certified to be a CNA while you are still in high school? This is a must come to meeting if you know for sure you would like to work in the nursing field or just are curious as to what the possibilities are.  Please see Mrs. Christopherson or Mrs. Enderby if you have any questions.

 

Students for Social Justice: Students for Social Justice is meeting tomorrow after school. This is our last meeting of the year. I hope you can make the meeting!

 

Ripples Dance Concert: Tonight and tomorrow East and Washington students will put on their Dance concert Ripples. Tickets for the show are $3.00 for students and $6.00 for adults. Come out and show our dancers your support.

 

Word of the Day: Aftermath, noun, refers to the period of time shortly following a destructive event, or to a negative consequence or result.
