Day 2

Good morning, East High School... Be respectful, be dependable, be prepared, and remember, it is a great day to be a Red Devil. These are your morning announcements. Please stand for the Pledge of Allegiance.

I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

The Red Devils varsity football team plays Southwest tonight here at City Stadium. Kickoff is at 7:00 pm. Students, remember to enter through the student entrance with your school ID. Come cheer on the Red Devils at their last game of the season!

Where do ghosts buy their Halloween candy? Answer: At the ghostery store of course! Hey all you Red Devils, mark your calendars. On Monday. October 30th 6:00-8:00PM we are having an RDP Halloween Dance Party. The dance is free and we'll have pizza and snacks at the Concessions stand. We have an awesome DJ and games to play. Stay tuned, more information to come....

Halloween is right around the corner, and the Student Council has the perfect gift for you to surprise your special someone or anyone. Student Council will be selling Boo Bags next week before school. What are Boo Bags? They are bags of tricks and treats that will be delivered to the person of your choosing on Halloween. SOME lucky Boo Bags will have gift cards in them to local businesses or East apparel! So stop down in the main office lobby to purchase one October 23-26. The cost is $3 each or 2 for $5.

Come out to West De Pere High School on Saturday, October 21 to watch your boys Red Devils varsity soccer team play the Phantoms in the WIAA regional final game. Kickoff is at 1:00 pm, and all tickets are $6 per WIAA policy. Go Red Devils!

We all know relationships can be tough, but did you know 1 in 3 young people will experience abuse by a partner while dating? It’s a lot more common than we think! October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month- it’s time to take action, talk to a friend in need, and share helpful resources. If you or someone you know needs help, you can text “loveis” to 22522 to talk with an Advocate or call Golden House, or local domestic violence agency at 920-435-0100.

Tickets are on sale, in the main office or online, for the East High production of Matilda the Musical. It's a terrific show, based on the children's book by Roald Dahl. Performances are November 3, 4, 10, and 11 in the auditorium, and all seats are reserved. Use the ticket link in announcements page-- East High-Matilda Tix! or check the QR code in posters around school.

“Do you ever feel like a plastic bag drifting through the wind?” Or like you don’t have a voice when it comes to the laws that actually impact your life because you can’t vote yet? Would you like to have a chance to share your opinions and stories directly to your elected officials in a way that they will really hear you? Come to the Library after school next Wednesday to hear Wisconsin Legislator Shelton explain how you can have a say in politics even without being able to vote.

New Orleans Music Trip music students - please email your travel documents to Mrs. Tjoflat this week.

Book Club meets next Thursday to discuss Promise Boys. Please check Google Classroom if you are interested in getting a jumpstart on our next book Man Made Monsters. See Ms. Ollmann if you have any questions.

Word of the Day: Quintessence, noun- a formal word that can refer to the most typical or perfect example of something, or the most important part of something

These have been your morning announcements.

Have a peaceful World Humanitarian Action Day and a great learning day!
