Day 2

Good morning, East High School... Be respectful, be dependable, be prepared, and remember, it is a great day to be a Red Devil. These are your morning announcements. Please stand for the Pledge of Allegiance.

I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

Attention girls and boys basketball players: tonight at 6:00 pm there will be a mandatory code of conduct meeting for all players and their parents. The meeting will be held in room 309. See you there!

ASVAB Testing- The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery test is a multiple-aptitude battery (test) that measures developed abilities and helps predict future academic and occupational success in the military. You can sign up in the Career Center with Ms. Kong to take the ASVAB. This does not commit you to anything, but it can help you figure out your career interests and plans for after graduation. The test helps explore career interests in general. The test will be on November 9 from 7:30-11:30 am. The last day to sign up is November 6. If you have any questions, please see Ms. Kong!

Attention Link Crew Leaders: We will have a brief informational meeting after school on Wednesday, October 25th in room 301. Please attend since we have a couple things that need to be discussed. Again, all current Link Crew Leaders, meet after school this Wednesday in room 301. If you are unable to attend, please let Baumann know ASAP.

Club Latino will be meeting this Thursday at 3pm in room 234. See you there.

El Club Latino se reúne este jueves a las 3pm en el salón 234. Nos vemos allí.

Why don’t skeletons ever go trick or treating? Answer: Because they have no-body to go with. On Monday, October 30th from 6:00-8:00 pm we are having an RDP Halloween Dance Party. The dance is free and we'll have pizza at the Concessions stand. We have an awesome DJ and games to play. You can wear costumes too! How do you earn this awesome dance? RDP is 85% attendance, no major referrals, and your lunch detentions need to be served. Remember: don’t take two lunches, take one! Your Advisory teacher will give you a ticket to attend. Stay tuned, more information to come…

Halloween is right around the corner, and the Student Council has the perfect gift for you to surprise your special someone or anyone. Student Council is selling Boo Bags this week before school. What are Boo Bags? They are bags of tricks and treats that will be delivered to the person of your choosing on Halloween. SOME lucky Boo Bags will have gift cards in them to local businesses or East apparel! So stop down in the main office lobby before school to purchase one through Thursday morning. The cost is $3 each or 2 for $5.

For anyone interested in football, Fox River Classic Youth Football is now taking registrations for non-contact Spring leagues. There will be a 7v7 boys and girls league and a girls only flag football league. See the flyer attached for more information!

(sing the 1st line) “Do you ever feel like a plastic bag drifting through the wind?” Or like you don’t have a voice when it comes to the laws that actually impact your life because you can’t vote yet? Would you like to have a chance to share your opinions and stories directly to your elected officials in a way that they will really hear you? Come to the Library after school this Wednesday to hear Wisconsin Legislator Shelton explain how you can have a say in politics even without being able to vote.

Attention bowlers: Sign ups and practices for Bowling Club will be held at Riviera Lanes on Monday, November 6 and Wednesday, November 8 at 4:00 pm. We hope to see you there!

The East High Fall musical theatre production of Matilda the musical opens in less than two weeks. The cast, pit orchestra, and tech teams have a great show in the works. We hope that students and staff will come out to see the performance! Shows are November 3, 4, and 10 at 7:00 pm, and November 11 at 1:00 pm. Tickets are on sale now - $6.00 for students and $8.00 for adults! Here's the ticket link - East High-Matilda Tix! or stop in the main office to get your reserved seats.

News from Mr. Dix and Mr. Buss- Attention Visual Fine Arts students: There will be no Fine Arts meeting this week (Thursday)! Enjoy your long weekend!

Book Club meets this Thursday to discuss Promise Boys. Bring your lunch. There will be treats! Please check Google Classroom if you are interested in getting a jumpstart on our next book, Man Made Monsters. See Ms. Ollmann if you have any questions.

New Orleans Music Trip students- Please remember that payment #2 is due on October 25th!

Word of the Day: Regale, verb- a somewhat formal word that means “to entertain or amuse by telling stories, describing experiences, etc.” It is often followed by with.

These have been your morning announcements.

Happy Bat Appreciation week, and have a great learning day!
