Day 1

Good morning, East High School... Be respectful, be dependable, be prepared, and remember, it is a great day to be a Red Devil. These are your morning announcements. Please stand for the Pledge of Allegiance.

I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

Book Club meets tomorrow to discuss Promise Boys. Bring your lunch. There will be treats! Please check Google Classroom if you are interested in getting a jumpstart on our next book, Man Made Monsters. See Ms. Ollmann if you have any questions.

Do you like coloring? Do you like winning prizes? It's time for our annual Day of the Dead Coloring Contest! Stop in the library to pick up your coloring page and check out the details. Contest ends at 3:15 on Wednesday, November 1.

Halloween is right around the corner, and the Student Council has the perfect gift for you to surprise your special someone or anyone. Student Council is selling Boo Bags this week before school. What are Boo Bags? They are bags of tricks and treats that will be delivered to the person of your choosing on Halloween. SOME lucky Boo Bags will have gift cards in them to local businesses or East apparel! So stop down in the main office lobby before school tomorrow to purchase one. The cost is $3 each or 2 for $5.

For anyone interested in football, Fox River Classic Youth Football is now taking registrations for non-contact Spring leagues. There will be a 7v7 boys and girls league and a girls only flag football league. See the flyer attached for more information!

(sing the 1st line) “Do you ever feel like a plastic bag drifting through the wind?” Or like you don’t have a voice when it comes to the laws that actually impact your life because you can’t vote yet? Would you like to have a chance to share your opinions and stories directly to your elected officials in a way that they will really hear you? Come to the Library after school today to hear Wisconsin Legislator Shelton explain how you can have a say in politics even without being able to vote.

Club Latino will be meeting this Thursday at 3pm in room 234. See you there.

El Club Latino se reúne este jueves a las 3pm en el salón 234. Nos vemos allí.

News from Mr. Dix and Mr. Buss- Attention Visual Fine Arts students: There will be no Fine Arts meeting this week (Thursday)! Enjoy your long weekend!

Where do werewolves store all of their Halloween candy? Answer: In a werehouse. On Monday, October 30th from 6:00-8:00pm we are having an RDP Halloween Dance Party. The dance is free, but feel free to bring money because we'll have pizza at the Concessions stand. We have an awesome DJ and games to play. You can wear costumes too! How do you earn this awesome dance? RDP is 85% attendance, no major referrals, and your lunch detentions need to be served. Remember: don’t take two lunches, take one! Your Advisory teacher will give you a ticket to attend. If you don’t like dancing, there will be games to play. Stay tuned, more information to come…

We, the members of the Green Bay Area Public School District, recognize and honor the original inhabitants of Northeast Wisconsin. Our district lives, works and learns upon the ancestral homelands of the Menominee and Ho-Chunk Nations, and the current homeland of Oneida Nation. We acknowledge the 12 diverse and vibrant Wisconsin First Nations, who have persevered here since before recorded time, and continue to be integral parts of our community. We uphold our responsibility to repair relationships, initiate partnerships, and stand with all First Nations communities.

Word of the Day: Extraneous, adjective- Something described as extraneous does not form a necessary part of something else, and may also therefore be considered irrelevant or unimportant (as in “extraneous details”).

These have been your morning announcements.

Have a slick National Greasy Foods Day and a great learning day!
