Day 2


Good morning, East High School... Be respectful, be dependable, be prepared, and remember, it is a great day to be a Red Devil. These are your morning announcements. Please stand for the Pledge of Allegiance. 


I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.


Attention bowlers: Sign ups and practices for Bowling Club will be held at Riviera Lanes on Monday, November 6 and Wednesday, November 8 at 4:00 pm. We hope to see you there!

 

There are copies of our current Book Club book available to check out. Stop in the library today to check out Man Made Monsters. Our next meeting is November 29.

 

Stop in the library to vote for your favorite Day of the Dead Coloring page. You can vote for your own or vote for a friend's. All students and staff can vote once. Voting ends today at 3:15.

 

The fall musical production of Matilda, the Musical opens tomorrow night -  Friday, November 3rd. Performances are November 3rd, 4th, 10th and 11th. Students in the pit orchestra, tech teams, and cast invite students and staff to attend. Tickets are on sale in the main office and online - make plans to see this amazing show! 

 

Congratulations to the following AVID students: Melissa DeJesus, Rosa Santos Reyes, Nevaeh Jordan, Patricio Gonzalez Perez,  Avyona Hackney, Sofia Agredano-Sanchez, Jesus Ortega, and Lucas Scott for being the AVID Students of the Month for September and October. These 8 individuals have gone above and beyond during the months of September and October and have been selected as the AVID students of the month. They have all been excellent role models in the AVID elective class and have also worked incredibly hard outside the classroom. If you see them in class, please congratulate them!

 

Attention Boys Basketball players- Open gym will be held tomorrow, November 3 from 3:30-5:00 pm.

 

Buff Puff is back! What is Buff Puff? It is a coed volleyball competition between the classes. Teams are composed of 4 boys and 4 girls all in the same grade. It will be held on November 9 and start at 6:30pm in our own gym. Stop in the office and pick up a form and form your team! Grades and attendance count! Forms are due back in the office by November 7th. 


ASVAB Testing- The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery test is a multiple-aptitude battery (test) that measures developed abilities and helps predict future academic and occupational success in the military. You can sign up in the Career Center with Ms. Kong to take the ASVAB. This does not commit you to anything, but it can help you figure out your career interests and plans for after graduation. The test helps explore career interests in general. The test will be on November 9 from 7:30-11:30 am. The last day to sign up is November 6. If you have any questions, please see Ms. Kong!
