Day 1

Good morning, East High School... Be respectful, be dependable, be prepared, and remember, it is a great day to be a Red Devil. These are your morning announcements. Please stand for the Pledge of Allegiance.

I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

Matilda Students: We will have a 15 minute meeting Thursday, December 7th at 3:15pm to share our Center Stage adjudication comments, and hand out senior 4-year shirts!! All are welcome to attend - meet in the choir room.

Attention Juniors- Time is running out! If you are interested in being part of the Business Senior Internship program you need to see Mr. Christy in room 222 or 226 before you submit your course requests this week with your guidance counselor. Again, last call for juniors who are interested in being in Business Senior Internship next year. See Mr. Christy ASAP.

Did you know that the colored parts of poinsettias that most people think of as the flowers are actually colored bracts? That being said, this announcement of the Poinsettia Sale is ‘bract’ again! It will take place in the East Greenhouse Friday, December eighth from three to six pm. and Saturday, December ninth from ten am. until two pm. A large, two plant arrangement of red and white poinsettias are sixteen dollars each and a one plant poinsettias are eight dollars each. Again: Poinsettias, this Friday after school & Saturday from ten until two, at the greenhouse!

We look forward to having students in the library for study hall. Please remember to have your student ID to scan into the library. No food or drinks are allowed. In this community space, you can collaborate, investigate, and explore. Beginning today, some hours will have limited space, and you may need to return to study hall if you are not one of the first 40 students.

Hey, students! Do you like playing chess? If you answered "yes," this invitation is for you! The library is organizing a chess tournament for the week December 18. At least ten students need to sign up, so we can plan accordingly. Sign up with this link or stop in the library.

Book Club met last week. If you still have your copy of Man Made Monsters, please return it. Our next meeting is December 20. We will be reading The Life and Crimes of Hoodie Rosen. This realistic novel is about hatred and betrayal and friendships and community. We have copies available to check out.

Word of the Day: Dexterous, adjective- used to describe someone or something that has or shows great skill or cleverness

These have been your morning announcements.
