Day 2

Good morning, East High School... Be respectful, be dependable, be prepared, and remember, it is a great day to be a Red Devil. These are your morning announcements. Please stand for the Pledge of Allegiance.

I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

Attention Juniors- Time is running out! If you are interested in being part of the Business Senior Internship program you need to see Mr. Christy in room 222 or 226 before you submit your course requests this week with your guidance counselor. Again, last call for juniors who are interested in being in Business Senior Internship next year. See Mr. Christy ASAP.

Are you passionate about arguing? Do you love to prove that you are right? Do you want to put another club on your college application? Then join the East High Schools Debate Team! We need students like you who are invested in their future. Anybody from every skill level is welcome! If you’re interested, please join us for a meeting every Wednesday morning at 7:00 am. The meeting will be held in Room 314.

Hey, students! Do you like playing chess? If you answered "yes," this invitation is for you! The library is organizing a chess tournament for the week December 18. At least ten students need to sign up, so we can plan accordingly. Sign up with this link or stop in the library.

Matilda Students: We will have a 15 minute meeting Thursday, December 7th at 3:15pm to share our Center Stage adjudication comments, and hand out senior 4-year shirts!! All are welcome to attend - meet in the choir room.

The Aztecs used to use poinsettias for dyes in clothes. Pluck the leaves, dry them out, & dip into water for a red stain. Unlike that ancient staining recipe, gifting a poinsettia shows a love that never ‘dyes’. The Poinsettia Sale will take place in the East Greenhouse Friday, December eighth from three to six pm. and Saturday, December ninth from ten am. until two pm. A large, two plant arrangement of red and white poinsettias are sixteen dollars each and a one plant poinsettias are eight dollars each. Again: Poinsettias, this Friday after school & Saturday from ten until two, at the greenhouse!

The Green Bay East Student Council is holding a priority food drive for the Eats for East Pantry. What does that mean? Well, our pantry is in need of certain items at this time and the Student Council will give you a chance to win gift cards to local businesses if you bring in those specific items. Here's how: look at the list of Priority Items and bring the items to the main office before school December 11-15 and you will receive a raffle ticket for each priority item you bring in. We will accept all non-perishable items, but raffle tickets will be given for priority items.

Friendly reminder there's an FFA meeting after school today in the Agriscience room. We'll munch on some nachos & figure out our next plans forward for us hosting District Speaking Contests in January.

Word of the Day: Smite, verb - to hit someone or something very hard; to captivate or take

These have been your morning announcements.

Have a considerate International Volunteer Day and a great learning day!
