Day 2

Good morning, East High School... Be respectful, be dependable, be prepared, and remember, it is a great day to be a Red Devil. These are your morning announcements. Please stand for the Pledge of Allegiance.

I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

Save the date: after school Thursday, January fourth for Apps with Apps night! Come to work on applications, either for FFA, college, or other scholarships, all while eating appetizers! Again: Thursday, January fourth, after school, room one fifty-three.

This is a reminder to all students- if you are attending any after school activities including basketball games, you need to have 85% (or better) attendance, no major referrals, and no double lunches. If you do not meet these requirements, you will be turned away at the door!

There is still time! There is time to stop in the library and check out a book for next week. You can browse the book displays or ask for a book recommendation. There is still time to pick up a coloring handout or make a holiday card or decorative star. Make time for the library, your stop for a present for yourself. Give yourself the gift of reading.

Congratulations to Alex Martinez, the winner of our first Chess Tournament and recipient of a $25 Gnome Games gift card. Aiden Lor came in second. Thank you to all of the tournament participants!

Word of the Day: Purview, noun- refers to an area within which someone or something has authority, influence, or knowledge

These have been your morning announcements.

Have a brilliant National Mathematics Day and a great learning day!
