Day 2

Good morning, East High School... Be respectful, be dependable, be prepared, and remember, it is a great day to be a Red Devil. These are your morning announcements. Please stand for the Pledge of Allegiance.

I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

Dodge, duck, dip, dive and Dodge- You heard it right....the next student engagement event will be Dodgeball on Tuesday March 12th starting at 6:00PM. Get your team of 4 boys and 4 girls together for this fun event. The teams can be mixed grade levels. All students must be academically eligible to play and must be in good standing with your attendance. Forms are in the main office and are due by Friday March 8th at 3:00PM. Due to events at Buff Puff, no spectators will be allowed into the event, only team members.

Attention all boys interested in golfing for the East High Boys Golf Team this year. Please sign up online by this afternoon. Golf will start March 25th. Again, any gentlemen interested in golfing this spring, please sign up online on the East High School Athletic website. Please see AD Ms. Mathu with any questions.

An update on the Envirothon's Bake Sale: we're pausing the sale for the rest of this week & resuming on Monday, March eleventh. Our sales have been booming so far & our bakers need time to catch up in serving our best for you! Come hungry & ready on Monday, March eleventh, during both lunches, for our continuation of the Envirothon's Bake Sale.

West/East Girls Softball begins Monday, March 11. If you are interested in joining for the season, email Coach Guenther at [email protected]. Athletes wanting to play: make sure both your registration and physicals are turned in before March 11. You will not be able to practice until both forms are turned in. The SELF Program aims to help kids from difficult situations learn vital life skills, provide essential resources to their families, and have a comfortable safe environment to help them thrive! Currently they are working on improving their art room to encourage creativity amongst kids. To support this endeavor, East High is one of many places hosting an art supply drive! The SELF Program's art supply drive will be going from March 11-15. Be sure to come down to the main office next week to donate any art supplies!

Hey! Have you ever wanted to smash a tennis ball onto the roof of the school? Then maybe boys tennis is the team for you! We will be meeting next Wednesday 3/13 right after school for a short meeting in room 107. If you have any questions, ask Coach Calo or Coach Dickey. We have all the equipment you would need to play, so come on Wednesday and at least check it out!

Attention Seniors: the Senior Photo deadline has been extended to Friday, April 5. All senior photos must be a head shot and school appropriate. Please send Senior Photos to Ms. Boehm at [email protected]. Be sure to check your email for Senior Superlatives that are due by March 22.

Library: Thank you East students and staff for participating in Game Night! The winners of the door prizes are Andy Rivera, Diana DeJesus, and Marisa Collier. Stop in the library today to claim your prize.

Students, a couple important announcements: Please shutdown and restart your computers over the weekend. Charge them before the testing dates on March 12 and March 19. In Advisory class, you will get directions on how to update Chrome, so it is ready for the ACT test. If your computer is not working, or if you have a cracked screen, please stop in the library today. Also, please check your email for a survey from Ms. Ollmann. Provide some feedback about the library and book suggestions. Respond by next Friday.

Word of the Day: Connive, verb- to secretly help someone do something dishonest or illegal

These have been your morning announcements.
