Day 1

Good morning, East High School... Be respectful, be dependable, be prepared, and remember, it is a great day to be a Red Devil. These are your morning announcements. Please stand for the Pledge of Allegiance.

I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

Attention Juniors: If you are still holding on to a yellow Earned ACT Ticket from testing yesterday, please head to the Attendance Office after announcements to turn it in. We will be picking names during 2nd hour!

Attention Seniors! If you are a Senior in good standing and you want to make a lasting impression, please consider auditions for the Class of 2024 Commencement Speech at graduation. This year’s class motto is from Ferris Bueller in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off: “Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.” Auditions will be held the week we return from Spring Break in Room 320. Please see Mrs. Imlay (Rm. 320) for more information and to sign up.

Hey! Have you ever wanted to smash a tennis ball onto the roof of the school? Then maybe boys tennis is the team for you! We will be meeting today right after school for a short meeting in room 107. If you have any questions, ask Coach Calo or Coach Dickey. We have all the equipment you would need to play, so come today and at least check it out!

Attention all Fine Arts Institute students: this Friday we will have a required meeting during Advisory period in the auditorium. Please be sure to attend.

This Thursday, March 14th, Girls Soccer will have a preseason meeting in the Cafeteria at 6:00pm. Those interested in joining and a parent should attend.

Seniors, please check your email regarding senior photos, senior quotes, and senior superlatives. Send your senior photos to Ms. Boehm by Friday, April 5. Also, complete the Google forms for senior superlatives and senior quotes. If you have any questions, please email Ms. Boehm or Mr. Buss. Thank you!

Yearbook will be meeting today from 3:15-4:15 in room 115 to begin putting together pages. If you signed up for a page please make sure to attend this meeting, or connect with Mr. Buss.

What's happening in the library this week?  There are several Make and Take projects that you can create. You can try your luck at the origami table and make a Lucky Clover. You can use some powerful quotes by women to make a bookmark. Or you can channel your inner peace and doodle at the Zentangle maker station.

Book Club meets next Wednesday to discuss What the River Knows. There are still copies available if you want to catch up on our current book.

We, the members of the Green Bay Area Public School District, recognize and honor the original inhabitants of Northeast Wisconsin. Our district lives, works and learns upon the ancestral homelands of the Menominee and Ho-Chunk Nations, and the current homeland of Oneida Nation. We acknowledge the 12 diverse and vibrant Wisconsin First Nations, who have persevered here since before recorded time, and continue to be integral parts of our community. We uphold our responsibility to repair relationships, initiate partnerships, and stand with all First Nations communities.

Word of the Day: Ad hominem, adjective- Something described as ad hominem involves an attack on an opponent’s character rather than an answer to assertions or points that the opponent has made.

These have been your morning announcements.

Have a selfless National Good Samaritan Day and a great learning day!
