BOOK OF THE WEEK

Amazon.com: Between the World and Me eBook : Coates, Ta-Nehisi: Kindle Store
Random House Audio; Unabridged edition (September 8, 2015)

According to a School Library Journal review, Ta-Nehisi Coates’ brief book
Between the World and Me is an essential work: “This stunning, National Book
Award-winning memoir should be required reading for high school students and
adults alike.” Taking the form of a letter to his teenage son, this eloquent discourse
shares what it means to be black in America. Like Jason Reynolds and Brendan
Kiely's All American Boys, this book provides a starting point for timely discussions.
Last year, Coates was asked about book bannings, including a challenge to
Between the World and Me, in this short segment on CBS News.
