GSA will meet both virtually and in-person in Room 301 today after school!  If you have not been to a meeting yet this year and would like the Zoom link, please email Mrs. Amschler or Ms. Wetzel.  All students are welcome to attend, regardless of identity.

The 28th annual East High Fishing tournament will be held  June 5th from 7:30 - 9:30 am  in the East River. This tournament is open to all East students and faculty. This is a WI Free Fishing weekend so you won't need a license and we will have equipment available if you have never gone fishing before.  Prizes awarded for largest, smallest, and most fish. Sign up with Mr. Christy or Mr. Fisk.

East soccer:  Do you want to play boy’s soccer next fall?  There’s a meeting Thursday, June 3rd to get ready for next season.  The meeting will be in the bleachers at City Stadium at 3:30 and workouts will be held over the summer.

Be the Match has the world’s most diverse donor registry for donation of stem cells and bone marrow. Despite having the most diverse registry, there are still major disparities between those of varying ethnic backgrounds: black or African-American patients have only a 23% chance of having a registered, matching donor; Asian and Pacific Islander patients have only a 41% chance; Hispanic or Latino patients a 46% chance; Native Alaskan and American patients a 57% chance; and Caucasian patients a 77% chance. Patients are more likely to match with a donor who shares their ethnic background, so by increasing diversity of donor registration, this ethnic gap can be closed, and allows for more equal and proportional treatment of all patients. Your heritage could be someone’s cure. To join the registry, Text: HOSAGreenBayE to 61474 or click on join.bethematch.org/HOSAGreenBayE. Are you seeking to improve your leadership skills in your school and community?  If you are a 9th-11th grader, we have a free opportunity for you!  Rotary Youth Leadership Academy is offering a training camp that will focus on improving leadership, self confidence, and problem solving.  If you are interested in this opportunity, please stop in student services to pick up an application.  There are also fact sheets posted on the bulletin boards around school.

Music Department Awards:  Music students awards event will be happening tomorrow, Friday, May 28th during lunch periods.

If you are interested in playing volleyball next year and have not yet received any information regarding summer or fall opportunities, contact Ms. Kieffer in room 225 OR at [email protected]

Boys’ golf team:  The boys’ golf team concluded its 2021 covid-19 campaign playing wonderfully on a windswept and winding Wander Springs Golf Course.  How’s that for alliteration Mrs. Carlson?  After a bumpy ride in our cavernous team bus, and a quick warm up, the team set out to conquer it’s rivals in the Bay Conference on the links.  East was led by our steely-eyed and masked junior Nate “the master mechanic” Stamper.  Nate played in very difficult conditions, traversing lightning-fast greens, avoiding treacherous water hazards, and withstanding wind gusts of over 30 miles per hour!  Despite these challenges, Nate still shot a personal best score!  Sadly, this ends our season, but the high of Nate’s success is a sweet way to do so.

Mr. Reiman would like to personally thank not only Nate, but also Ike La Rock, Kai Heverely, Maddux Lunde, Isaac Bowman, and Danny Debroux for coming out this season.  He would also like to thank Mr. McCormick for his help and dedication to the program over the last several years.  To all our listeners out there, a big thank you for putting up with these sometimes long and over-embellished announcements, as this is, metaphorically speaking, “Mr. Reiman’s last round”.  It has been an honor.

Word of the Day: Flotilla, noun, a fleet of ships or boats; especially: a navy organizational unit consisting of two or more squadrons of small warships: an indefinite large number.

These have been your morning announcements
