The District has developed guidelines with the assistance of Bellin Health to slowly reopen schools to allow high school athletes to use facilities for strength and conditioning starting July 13, 2020.

Safety protocols are in place to mitigate the spread of COVID-19; however, it is important to stress that any public activity with individuals who do not live with you has some risk. The following safety protocols will be enforced. Any violation to the protocols will result in the loss of privilege to use the facilities.

-All coaches and students will be screened for signs/symptoms of COVID-19 prior to a workout. Screenings include a temperature check.
-Athletic facilities will have limited hours. In addition, no more than 10 individuals can be in the space at one time. Students will need to contact their coach to determine when they will be able to use the facility. Attached are the list of coaches at East High School. Coaching Staff - East High
-Locker rooms will not be utilized. Students are to report in proper workout attire and return home to shower.
-Workouts will be conducted in “pods” so that the same students are always working out together.
-Physical distancing of six feet between individuals must be maintained at all times.
-Students should wash their hands for a minimum of 20 seconds with warm water and soap prior to attending the workouts.
-Hand sanitizer will be available at all check in stations and students will be encouraged for use before, during, and after workouts.

-Students will wear appropriate clothing/shoes in the weight room to minimize sweat transmitting onto equipment/surfaces.
-Students are encouraged to shower and wash their workout clothing immediately upon returning home.
-Coaches will wear masks and students are expected to wear face masks when entering and leaving the facility or workout area. Students are not required to wear masks while engaged in physical activity.
-Athletic equipment should not be shared (towels, clothing, shoes, or sports equipment) between students.
-Students should bring their own water bottle, labeled with their name. Hydration stations will not be available.

Due to the current level of community spread of COVID-19, medically vulnerable students should consult their medical provider regarding whether or not they should participate.

The District will be reviewing on a regular basis whether or not greater access to the schools will be available. Currently, beginning July 20, we plan to allow coaches to hold modified contact days. However, all plans are subject to change depending on recommendations by the Department of Health and Human Services and our local medical community.
